Maine Island Summer Oceanfront Vacation Home

Relax and recharge in this beautiful, spacious and private home rental on the northwest side of
Westport Island.

Our property is named Rock Ledge Point, located 45 miles north of Portland, Maine. Westport Island is uniquely positioned in the heart of the midcoast. The home overlooks 200' of deep saltwater frontage along the Sheepscott River estuary and directly in front of the home, there's an exposed rocky ledge visible during the 7 foot low tide. Wildlife viewing includes a pair of nesting osprey which have nested just above the home, seals, blue herons and cormorants. Local lobster fisherman can be seem hauling their traps daily.

Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the front deck (40' x 9') or inside the great room (40' x 17') from the window seat. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms and a shower bathroom. Both bedrooms have a full picture window views of the
river and tall trees lining the property. Watching the water ripple and the tree branches blow in the wind; a soothing break from the stress of everyday life. King size beds with new mattresses and freshly dressed linens offer comfort after a full day of playing in the area. The main floor offers a 12' x 12' bedroom off the kitchen with a queen size bed and private bathroom including a tub and shower. There's also a den just off the kitchen with a day bed to accommodate extra guests.

While there are many great restaurants in the area, you may also enjoy creating delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen overlooking landscaped gardens. Cable television and a wireless high speed internet connection are also available.

The property situated on 3 acres of shorefront land in a natural setting. It's within easy driving distance of two of
Maine's finest sandy beaches, Popham Beach and Reid State Park. Westport Island also has two nature preserves with picnic areas, but the home itself has exposed ledges, which lend themselves to private picnics as well. Wiscasset is known for antiquing and nearby Bath, was voted a "Distinctive Destination" in 2005 by the commission for historic sites and cities in America. Bath offers great downtown shopping and resturants. Most notably Bath is home to Bath Iron Works (a division of General Dynamics) and the Maine Maritime Museum. Other nearby destination spots are Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Point. There's also Freeport with its many retail outlets and Brunswick's Bowdoin college and summer theatre programs.
