Not a cottage, this home is furnished for year round living and has a large well appointed kit with bay window dining, two living rooms, and a master bedroom with 4 piece bath on first floor. Level two has two bedrooms with water views and a bath with shower. Patio and breezeway afford outdoor living with gas grill. Mooring and dock access available. 2 kayaks available for use by agreement. Pets considered. Linens, full cable, and wireless internet provided.

a month in Boothbay

My wife and I rented this property for 4 weeks during August and September 2012. We had friends from California for 2 of the weeks. We found this to be a prefect place to stay and explore the Maine coast, which we did. The house was very comfortable with many amenities including a nice breezeway where we enjoyed cocktails, an area near the water for reading and a great dock for taking kayaks out. The kayaks were included with the house. Our friends from California were equally impressed with the accomadations. Location was close to Boothbay Harbor which offers good dining, shopping and day boat trips. All in all the house was a great find and we would do it again.

Spectacular views

August 5, 2012

We rented this property in July and had a wonderful time kayaking almost every day. We were four adults and two grandchildren, ages 4 and 6. We could easily put the kayaks in the water off the dock, but not really suitable for swimming for small children. The house had everything we needed and we were quite comfortable. There is a road in front of the house before you walk down to the beac, so need to be careful with small children.Also had a fire pit so toasting marsh mellows was a must for our grandchildren. We would definitely stay here again because of the views, comfort, and closeness to downtown Boothbay Harbor. Thank You

BBH and Maine Vacation

The City of Boothbay Harbor (BBH): BBH is expectedly touristy but quaint and inviting. The city itself was easy to drive into, easy to find both municipal and private lot parking ($5 for the day) and easy to find a variety of shops, restaurants and activities, like whale watching excursions or kayaking. The women in the family (including 16 and 19 year olds) got their share of shopping in the smaller unique shops throughout the area. We went into Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park for a day trip (nice 3-hour drive each way) and found that we were glad we chose BBH as our base: “Baa Haa Baa” was too packed with people and cars for our liking. The Area: The area offered a nice variety of narrow winding roads, great scenery, beautiful homes and clean ocean air. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is very close by (2 miles) and is worth the visit. They have fantastic grounds that are well kept with plants marked for your reference. It includes a paved area as well as unimproved trails that are fun to walk. The House and Hostess: The price was very reasonable for the area and the time of year. It’s an older place that has all the conveniences you would expect while retaining the charm and simple living of a 70-year-old+ coastal home. We kept the windows open to enjoy the fresh air, and while it may have gotten warm toward the end of the day, the cool nights helped bring down the temperature very quickly on the main floor. We got some very restful nights in the comfort of the master bedroom. My wife and I spent more than a few occasions on the breezeway seating between the house and garage, enjoying the shade, breeze and bay view, cocktail in hand. The access to the ocean was expansive and spectacular, with our own seating area and fire pit at the edge of the property, right on Booth Bay. It afforded westward views of several islands, including Indiantown Preserve, Isle of Springs, Southport, Macmahan and Westport, along with beautiful sunsets. The dock and kayaks made enjoying the bay that much more fun. It didn’t matter whether it was high or low tide for kayaking. Overall: We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the area. Clearly, we didn't travel to Maine to look for Disneyland excitement. Instead, we seeked out and found a relaxing, beautiful, and slow paced vacation … just the kind of thing that our family needed to unwind. This was a great experience and a great rental … we would definitely recommend and return. Thanks Lucin
