The Experience:
What's it like saying on a houseboat? The boat is in a protected part of the marina, but there is some occasional movement during the day when boats pass by. It is usually very calm during the night, although some guests find a bit of gentle swaying is relaxing and can lead to a very restful sleep.

The place was roomy, nice & clean. It was convenient to get around the city. However, the place was cold 51-55 degrees(inside) on lower floor so we couldnt hang out much on the boat. The circuit breakers kept tripping through the night downstairs, which shut off heaters .upstairs was better like 76degrees so sleeping was fine but no place to hang out or eat up there. We had coffee but left shortly after to find warm place to eat & tour the city.Water taxi very close by .After being out for the afternoon when we returned no power throughout the whole boat. The entire place was cold & dark, not fun anymore since it was 13 degrees outside .We called the management who responded quickly but no power is no power & no heat made stay impossible,13degrees would have taken forever to get boat even little bit warm. That is if he was even able to restore power from fried electrical cord.we packed our groceries we were planning to prepare for dinner on boat & headed back home . not fun weekend except when were in the city

The Taurus was amazing....

May 19, 2010

Staying on the Taurus was my favorite part about our trip to Boston. Stepping aboard the first night was so exciting... the houseboat was clean and cozy. There was everything that we needed to be comfortable during our stay. I loved waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck while overlooking the marina. It was a great experience for my little nephew who declared himself captain of the ship for the weekend. All in all, I am looking forward to one day renting one of Ryan's houseboats again.

Even with the bad weather we had during our visit, the houseboat was one of the highlights of our trip. Very clean, all the comforts of home, and lots of extras. Easy access and directions to all the places we wanted to go. Next time will know there is no need to pack hairdryer, shampoos, etc. It is all there!

Great stay at the sleepafloathouse boat in Charlestown Navy yard in Sept 09. The boat was clean, had a good TV/stereo system, enough space for a small family. It rocks a bit but its quite fun and you get used to it. Ryan was very helpful and the location is great. The Boston water taxis will drop you right at the boat! We'd certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

Great accomodations! The kids loved having their own space. The free MGH shuttle bus to the T station or the ferry to the aquarium makes getting around Boston a breeze. The bed is very comfortable! Thanks Ryan!

What a great week-end! The houseboat accommodations were perfect...better than a hotel. The location was amazing! It was really fun watching all the ships come through the harbor accompanied by tugboats. The marina was quiet and other boaters were very friendly. Looking forward to another stay. And by the way...the bed was more comfortable than my own!!

What a way to experience Boston! Ryan, thank you so much for allowing my dog and I the chance to truly explore Boston like a local! The boats are beautiful, the bed was sooo comfortable (loved the memory foam!) After figuring out how to use the coffee maker, I loved making a different cup each time, and enjoying it up in the lounge chair on the roof deck. We will definitely be back, look forward to exploring your boats in the other cities.
