Heat wave with no AC

May 19, 2008

To be fair the property owner did mention several times the heat wave Boulder was having. Living in KC with the same temps, I was well aware it could get warm. Her listing showed heating, I did not catch that there was no AC; neither did my husband nor my 28 year old daughter. We had planned this family trip to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. Thank goodness we arrived a day before everyone else. It was about 98 degrees and unbearable. At no time did she offer a window unit and her ceiling fans offered little comfort. The next day we left for a while and found that the property owner had come inside the property while we were gone. I wasn't aware that would be happening. no confort. The kitchen was not clean and I cleared a shelf in the fridge for my things. There was no space in the closet for my things. We ended up finding another home. We were offered a 50% return and this has since been renigned. We received 2 bounced check on the pet deposit before one cleared

Owner does not live up to contract, other issues

January 9, 2008

This house does have gorgeous views and a nice layout. BUT owner did not respect our rental contract. She rented us the entire house but when we arrived she said that she would be staying in the house with us for several days. When I asked her not to, she indicated that we had no choice. Her pets are loud/bark alot and are dirty - they woke us on several nights, even barging in our bedroom in the middle of the night - and kept my baby from napping with their barking. She left us a filthy house (I even had to buy my own mop and cleaner) and then charged us a $150 cleaning fee, which is not advertised on this site. She did not return our full damage deposit because she decided to charge us extra for utilities. This too was not in the contract or on this site. She seemed to think that because it is her residence that she didn't need to respect our contract or privacy. When she stayed there she took things from the kitchen, invaded our space and had people over. No cable/internet either.

No Vacation!

December 10, 2007

This owner lives at the house and is looking for roommates that she can micro-manage rather that people who are looking to vacation in the "privacy" that she mentions. It's false advertising and frankly I would find another place to stay if you want to be treated respectfully and professionally by someone who will rent you a home and then leave you alone.
