Beautiful cabin!

“ Excellent ”
July 1, 2014
What a beautiful cabin! Very spacious and well thought out. The architecture is so modern and fresh, but still woodsy. I rented the cabin for many of my wedding guests to stay during the wedding weekend. Most of the guests are familiar with Sebec Lake and are used to sharing my families tiny cabin. It was a nice change to have so much space. The kitchen was open and easy for many people to cook together while others gather around the central island. We had all the cooking equipment and gadgets we needed. The living room was cozy despite the openness of the cabin, with plenty of space for folks to gather around. A giant table meant multiple puzzles could be happening at once. A washer and drier were a nice convenience. The loft bedrooms are open, heavy Pendleton blankets create some privacy from the other room and the main floor below. The master side bedroom had a king sized bed. On the other side were three full or queens, twin bunk beds, and a twin day bed. Downstairs was another futon that pulled out to a double and another futon that didn't pull out. The upstairs had a full bath and there was another half bath downstairs. Plenty of parking in the back. If I were to make one suggestion to the home-owner it would be to put in a nice dock. The current dock is floating plastic cubes that connect together into a dock shape. We were able to pull a boat up to it, even though the cove the cabin is in is shallow. A new dock would be great if it was big enough to pull a couple of lawn chairs on and if it was steady enough to go swimming off of and secure a motorboat for a week. The property is beautiful, but its very wooded and on the north shore so catching some rays along the waterfront is tricky without a dock. I would definitely stay there again. Its great for families with young kids who will all enjoy sleepovers is the same big bedroom together or bigger family/friend groups looking to hang out. Its not quite as good for people looking for privacy from other guests as its open and a bit loud. I also think it would be a great place to stay in the spring or fall when you are looking for a retreat as opposed to fun in the sun.The property owner was great to deal with. He responded within 48 hrs to all of my email questions and was available by phone during our stay.
