This cottage is in a very peaceful setting with huge brick courtyard. This is not like most properties on the island built on stilts or part a multi unit complex. It is not like most other vacation rentals that require you to climb 1-3 stories. This is a ground level stand alone home!

We have just invested in a total makeover. I.e., New kitchen, granite counters. New Whirlpool dishwasher. New stainless sink, New Kenmore smooth top stove/oven, refrig/freezer. Virtually every other kitchen tool, like home, making Kitchen fully stocked.

You will love our white powder sand beach just around steps away. Enjoy turquoise crystal clear water! Walk along the beach just a short way and stop at the great restaurants and live entertainment right on the water. If you like fishing, we have a dock just 40 steps away too.

If you like going for walks, there is a marvelous paved trail across our street that goes for about 2 miles or so along the beach. This is a great paved boardwalk to walk or bike along every day especially around sun set! The trail is covered by weeping pines and is simply breathtaking. Yes, we even include new bikes that are better than the ones in bike rentals that charge $19 plus tax/day!

Just a quick walk down the road is The Coquina Baywalk at Leffis key where you will enjoy acres of boardwalks built along the Bay. Spectacular scenery. We are also just a short walk to the biggest Beach/park on the island Coquina Beach. There is a new cafe on the beach brand new as of April 2012! Enjoy delicious food right on the beach! My favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich and fries for around $5!

Take the free trolley that picks up right at our street corner. See all the destinations on the entire island. It will take you beyond the island all the way through Long Boat Key stopping at destinations such as the Mote Aquarium. It will take you all the way in to Sarasota where you can make several day trips and still want to come back for more. Our favorite places are the Ringling Museum and Selby Botanical Gardens. And all time favorite spot is St Armands. You really don't need a rental car here and there's no need to walk anywhere unless you want to. If you have a car you will save $ on gas.

You will enjoy a wide variety of restaurants all within walking distance including our favorites on the Pier. We recently saw 3 dolphins and a Manatee while eating there!

Anyway, I can go on and on but you must see to believe.
There are two bedrooms. It will sleep 4 comfortably but with a big queen sleep sofa it will handle 5 if necessary. There's a big full bathroom. It set away privately from both bedrooms. Unlike many rentals where the bathroom is in one of the bedrooms. Unlike most rentals with just a shower, this has shower and soaking tub. Big dining Lanai. Living area. Kitchen. Unique extras include; plush mattresses for the best nights sleep so you can spend more time enjoying the day! large closets including hand painted cedar closet in one bedroom. Large closet in master bedroom stocked with beach chairs and umbrella.

We provide everything including beach towels. You need only bring your tooth brushes and flip flops. All windows including Lanai have new Tommy Bahama white blinds. Lanai has new comfortable dining set. Outside is your private storage closet with beach chairs, umbrella, and fishing poles.

My wife does all the interior decorating and she really has a flare for making everything look so bright and beachy.

The furniture in this home is top of the line Tommy Bahama, Pier1, and other beach designer styles. Unlike other owners who rent from a thousand miles away, and are at risk of bank foreclosure, we live nearby most of the year and own property free and clear of bank mortgage. Sadly, many vacation properties are at risk of bank foreclosure. Have peace of mind when you rent from us. If there's ever a problem we are nearby to resolve quickly.

Anna Maria Island
Anna Maria island is just seven miles long and is made up of three small cities: Bradenton Beach,
Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria at the north. No matter which direction you come, you must cross water
via a bridge. At the southern tip is the most sought after area of Bradenton Beach. You can head north from Sarasota travel on to Longboat Key and cross over a draw bridge on to Bradenton Beach. There are also two other draw bridges from the main land of Bradenton to come onto Anna Maria island. One way is via Manatee Avenue (SR 64 ) and the other is via Cortez Road.

While Anna Maria Island is known for laid back living and relaxation, should you wish to participate in the local scene there's an abundance of activities. If you enjoy biking, Bradenton Beach has a designated bike trail along Gulf Drive. Old Bridge Street has Putt Putt Golf and while you play, there is a misting system so you can stay cool. At the end of Old Bridge Street is a pier for your fishing pleasure as well as a restaurant. There are a variety of restaurants on Old Bridge St making it possible to satisfy every appetite.

Whether it's pizza or French crepes to fish tacos, you can find a meal to satisfy. There are also shops and the US Post office is located here so you can mail post cards to your friends back home.

Naturally you can swim in the crystal clear emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Snorkeling is also fun or surfboarding, parasailing or kayaking. Several local business will rent you all the necessary equipment. Naturally there are golfing and tennis too.

There's really a wide range of things to do here, if you want to have an action packed time you will find plenty. Of course you can always stroll along the white powder shore collecting shells and then watch an incredible sunset with your favorite beverage. Kids of all ages would enjoy a visit to Bradenton to see Snooty the manatee. The area of Manatee/Sarasota counties also has great off shore fishing, jet skiing, kayaking, golfing, tennis, shopping, museums, and art galleries to explore.

Be sure to observe all the turtle watch rules as the Ridley turtles are building nests from early May and baby turtles are hatching on our beaches. You might even go on a turtle watch tour with our local turtle lady. Look in the paper for her schedule.

The entire island of Anna Maria has many reasonably priced award winning restaurants.The Sign of the Mermaid Restaurant has not only delicious food as in breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the owner is a triple time National Pie contest winner. Be sure and stop by.

Of course, check out the local newspaper for the latest events about the island. The SUN is just one. It's free and had lots of information you can use on current happenings.

Holmes Beach is famous for the Beach Cafe, Skinny's a small local hamburger, hotdog storefront plus along Gulf Drive you will locate the island grocery store, Publix and several island strip centers with your last minute beach items such as snacks, lotions, toys and beach towels.

OFF THE

Mote Science Lab is just a short drive off the island and on to Longboat Key just a few miles to the south. Both you and your kids will enjoy a visit to this "hands on" science stop. This is where many of the rescued injured animals, occasional birds, turtles, etc are taken to recuperate and then are returned to nature.

G WIZ is located in Sarasota near the VanWizzel a block off of Tamiami. This is a state of the art Science hands on museum. Well worth the visit. Check it out on line to see what they are featuring. Call for cost.

Disneyworld, Epcot Center, the Everglades, visit close by Sarasota (the cultural center of Florida) with the Ringling Museum, Saint Armand's, and much more!
