Description of the Brattleboro vacation apartment rental

Blue Heron Pond is a corner of heaven in a four season paradise. We are three miles from downtown Brattleboro, on 13 private acres of woods with a lovely pond to swim in during the warm weather, and ice skating in the winter. Ski and snow shoeing out the back door. Woods to walk in. We are an hour and a half from Boston, three hours from NYC. Amtrak train from NYC daily and buses from Boston and NYC.

This is a welcoming, large and comfortable space. Most or our guests tell us how "at home" they feel here. As you walk in there is a modern kitchen, with gas stove, dishwasher, and fresh delicious well water. In the living room is a fold out queen size fouton. A wood stove for the cold weather. Internet and television with satellite. Full bathroom with tub and shower, and washing machine and dryer.

Bedroom is a 200 square foot space, a lovely space for writing and creating, the bed is a comfortable double sized bed. We have additional blow up air mattresses.

Area Information

Brattleboro is a mecca for arts, culture, entertainment, restaurants, music of all kinds, and sports. We are at the center of a sports paradise with mountains, forests, lakes and water.

A great experience!

I stayed for one week in early June. As a caveat, I did not use the kitchen, so I cannot speak to that aspect of the property. I had never visited the northeast US before and it was a very pleasant surprise. Brattlesboro is a beautiful place. I have never experienced air so clean. Blue Heron Pond on the property is a real focal point. I very much enjoyed lounging on the dock and just enjoying the ambience. The property also has a lovely view in the morning. A heavy mist sits on the lake and fades into the surrounding woods.It's a great way to start a morning with a cup of coffee. The area is very quiet and the only sounds I ever heard were of the natural flora and fauna variety. I would like to return and perhaps use those beautiful mornings for reflection and meditation. Instead, I got up early and went for a leisurely run out on the road. A nearby road (not on the property) winds up to a hill which provides some excellent vistas.There are also som excellent nearby hiking trails. Zoe and Namaya are gracious hosts and very accomodating. I felt very much at home. If you want to go into town, Brattlesboro has plenty to offer in the way of local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Zoe and Namaya were very helpful in steering me to a great restaurant on the river, a fun zydeco band at a local bar, a food co-op, a local ice cream parlor, an antiques shop, and a poetry reading and art show, to name a few. If you would like a reatreat into nature with nearby Brattlesboro amenities and a very welcoming couple as your hosts, this is the place for you!

Vermont at it's best........

If you are looking for a retreat from the usual hassle of travel, this is it. Blue Haron Pond is the place to feel at home, relax, and enjoy. I stayed 2 months and enjoyed all that southern Vermont has to offer. Zoe and T are wonderful host and great for local activity recommendations. (in fact they are part of the local activity and entertainment) Blue Haron quickly became my base operations for all the hiking, biking, swimming, and exploring I did in Vermont and nearby Massachusetts. Very peaceful.

We spent a lovely two night weekend at Blue Heron Pond. The first-level apartment is very cozy and tidy. Very welcoming and amenties were all there, from extra blankets/pillows to cable tv (which our 2 yr old appreciated the most!). Newer, big bathroom was great as well as lots of living space between the kitchen and the living room. The outdoor environment is beautiful. Lots of wildflowers, benches, chairs and view of the pond down below. The home is up a bit from the main road, and you cannot see or hear any neighbors, it is very serene. We took a couple short walks in the woods and saw fireflies at night. Proximity to the downtown was perfect, just a few mintues away and close to anything you'd need for your stay in Brattleboro. Our hosts were away that weekend, but communicating with them was very easy and they made our reservation process (my first time) an excellent experience. Blue Heron Pond is certainly a place of peace and quiet, for people looking for a home-like stay. Patrician M

The location is out of a fairy tale: a long curvy driveway through the woods takes you to a beautiful home overlooking a small garden, the pond and the mountains. You can hike for miles through the woods and not see another person, and yet the town of Brattleboro is only about 3 miles away. We love riding, and there was a great place, Cold Brook Stables, a very short drive away. The living space itself is giant, very clean and private. T and Zoe were gracious hosts and interesting people, making us feel welcome and at home. They always made sure we had everything we needed, and even invited us over for a lovely evening and sneak peak at T's new play. Daniel

Very nice and quiet with an amazing view of the pond and the woods with the leaves changing. All so beautiful. Namaya was very kind and told some interesting stories as he lit the wood burning stove in our apartment

This is a very special place deep in the Vermont woods (but easily accessible with our navigator). The Blue Heron Pond is an actual pond surrounded by beautiful woods and hills. The accommodations are roomy and rustic. Wireless internet if you want it.. Zoe and T are hospitable and creative people.
