Smalls Pond showing the private dock and canoe you'll use for the length of your stay. Enjoy the top level of this serene duplex cottage directly on Smalls Pond. Beautiful pondview from the large deck, or relax your days away on the private dock; wifi reaches both. You'll enjoy a beautiful sunset from either, then stay out to listen to the bullfrogs song. You can spend hours exploring Long Pond, at 716 acres the largest freshwater pond on the Cape, separated from Smalls Pond by a small strip of beach. There is also a small public beach on Long Pond. Fishing licenses are required, but there are lots of fish if this is your enjoyment. The most recent complete fish survey twelve species were reported: including yellow perch, white perch, smallmouth and largemouth bass. You may want your own fishing poles.
There are 8 bay beaches in Brewster and closest to the cottage is Breakwater about 3 miles away. Nauset Beach in Orleans, made famous last year by Great White Shark sightings, is about 8 miles away. Nauset has frequent seal sightings, larger waves, and a snackbar.
The bike path parking lot and access at Underpass Rd. is about 3 miles away and there is a bike rental shop nearby. The Cape Cod Rail Trail, CCRT, bike path runs 25 miles from Dennis to Wellfleet. The paved path runs through forests, marshland, cranberry bogs, and rivers. There are some restaurants and shops adjacent to the bike path. Bikes are not necessary, you can also walk or skate.
The cottage is available for summer rental. 2 bedroom 1 bath. The kitchen is fully equipped, cable TV is provided. The living room has a flat screen TV. The living room and both bedrooms have ceiling fans. There is a gas grill on the deck.
