Beautiful log cabin hide-a-way on inland lake!

This cabin sits nestled in the Hiawatha Forest of Brimley, MI on the inland Monocle Lake, just across the street from Lake Superior. This gorgeous vacation spot is just 20 minutes from Sault Ste Marie and has everything to make your get-together as relaxing and fun as possible! The 1800 sq foot ground level floor of a large cedar log home is available to rent with its own full kitchen, living room, gas fireplace, bath with shower, satellite large-screen TV with 2 large queen bedrooms. There's plenty of room for cots or sleeping bags, and a bunk-house attached to the sauna has room for 3-4 kids to sleep just within hearing distance of the adults. Free Wi-fi.
Just outside the ground floor awaits a large gas grill for meals and a separate sauna open year round which quickly warms the whole family. A large private outdoor hot-tub has a spectacular view, often lit by moonlight bouncing off of the water, also available year-round. Kayaks, a canoe, fishing poles and snowshoes are available to use upon request for the athletic minded. Bring your bikes to enjoy a fantastic biking and hiking trail surrounding the lake starting right next to the house. The beach is available for sunbathing, volleyball, or even large bon fires weather permitting.
Perfect for water-skiing and tubing, Monocle Lake is warm and invites all ages to swim any time of day or maybe jump off of the dock. A short walk around the corner, access to the beach of Whitefish Bay of Lake Superior provides a very different lake experience with wind and waves ideal for any water fun!
Washer & dryer and dishwasher are inside for your convenience. A small party store with gas is a 2 mile drive, with a larger service station at 8 miles, and a moderate size grocery store about 9 miles away. ATV, boat, and snowmobile rentals are often available in Brimley town, just 5 minutes from the property. If Brimley doesn't have it, you won't need it to enjoy your vacation!

This beautiful home is hidden away in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula! Year-round fun will be had boating, biking, hiking, fishing, canoeing, hunting, swimming, snowmobiling, and skiing in the small community of Brimley--just 20 minutes from historic Sault Ste Marie. Within 10 minutes of leaving your private vacation stay, you could be gambling at the King Club or Bay Mills Casino... yet still enjoy the scenery and nature of a small town. During golf season, you can play the beautiful 18-hole Wild Bluff champion course owned by the Bay Mills casino, or visit the Point Iroquois Lighthouse and Museum built in 1871. One of the oldest state parks is literally just down the street, Brimley State Park, also located on the Whitefish Bay of Lake Superior. Beautiful Hiawatha National Forest is surrounding all of the area and a 45 minute ride will bring you to the Tahquamenon Falls where you can watch 50,000 gallons of water fall every second!
In Sault Ste Marie, 20 minutes away from the property location, historic sites such as the Soo Locks, River of History Museum, and Tower of History can be investigated, ending with a walk down "fudgie lane". You can enjoy the Sault's 40,000 sq foot Kewadin Casino or visit Canada via the International Bridge (passport required). Forty-five minutes south sits St. Ignace where a ferry can be taken to Mackinaw Island, or you can cross the Mackinac Bridge to visit Fort Mackinac, an 18th century fort originally built to protect the Island.
And if fluff and snow is your thing, enjoy over 6000 connected snowmobile trails that pass right through downtown Brimley or ski the biking trails cross-country. Whatever your pleasure, anything but traffic and crowds awaits you as you relax in your log-cabin getaway in the UP!
