Featured in 'House Beautiful', this 1600 square foot, architect designed home is a coastal gem. The East Coast shingled house sits on over 7 acres of forested property with more than 650 feet of glorious shoreline to explore. Built to be 'green', the house is passive solar and incorporates a soapstone, wood burning stove that heats the entire house.
A short path leads to the steps that go down to the pebbly beach front, perfect for swimming or kayaking.
The house overlooks picturesque Center Harbor with spectacular views to Deer Isle and the sailing lanes of the Eggemoggin Reach.
Fully furnished with a dishwasher, gas kitchen range, washer/dryer, linens and blanket. Three bedrooms with a king bed, two twins and a bunk bed. Two baths, one on each floor.
Brooklin is the wooden boat building center of Maine and is the location of The Wooden Boat school as well as the Brooklin Inn, restaurant and pub, Morning Moon Café, a general store, an exceptional library with WIFI Internet and a few antiques, art and craft shops, most within a short walk from the house.
