Description of the Burnsville vacation cabin rental

Looking for a vacation getaway? A place where you can escape from the rest of the world for just a little while? Well you've found "a LiL Slice A Heaven!" Nestled high in the Smokey Mountains, on the South Toe river. “Little Slice of Heaven” is a river cabin home, located 15 minutes from Burnsville NC and 40 minutes from downtown Asheville. The cabin is a two bedroom two bathroom, with a large loft, and can accommodate up to 8 people. The Cabin includes all the comforts of home including a full kitchen,laundry room,hot tub, & barbeque grill. For your entertainment there is also a pub style bar w/ billiard table and dart board. DVD w/ surround sound, a childrens video game area and basic satellite service. The Cabin is close to several local attractions, including Mt Mitchell National Park (the highest elevation on the eastern seaboard), gem mining, horseback riding, Natural Hot Springs,Smokey Mountain Train Rides, and white water rafting. There is Skiing in the winter, with four resorts from 30 minute to an hour away. Don’t forget to browse Asheville, known for its eclectic atmosphere, fine dining, shopping, and of course The Biltmore Estate.

Area Information

The Cabin is located on the south Toe River in a secluded area.There is plenty to do at the cabin. Enjoy lazy afternoons fishing or just floating on the river. Don’t worry if you don't want to get wet, there are plenty of trails for hiking. You can cross the swinging bridge, or hike to one of the nearby waterfalls. The Cabin is close to several local attractions, including Mt Mitchell National Park (the highest elevation on the eastern seaboard), gem mining, horseback riding, Natural Hot Springs,Smokey Mountain Train Rides, and white water rafting. There is Skiing in the winter, with four resorts from 30 minute to an hour away. Don’t forget to browse Asheville, known for its eclectic atmosphere, fine dining, shopping, and of course The Biltmore Estate. Just listen to the sounds of the mountains and the river from the front porch, sit back, and relax! No matter what you decide to do just remember, its easy to forget about the rest of the world here. Just listen from the front porch for the sound of the train to bring you back to reality .

Secluded and Peaceful

Matched our desires to a "T". Pet friendly, can't leave our babies behind. Huge porch with comfy furniture for relaxing. Spacious kitchen,living and sleeping areas. Gorgeous scenery with river at bottom of driveway for fishing and frolicing. We had an awesome time.

Wonderful porch, comfortable cabin

The cabin was wonderful! When we were at the cabin we spent almost all of the time on the porch and down at the river. At times the trains did get a bit loud. The hot tub was wonderful and worked great. After having rented other cabins with hot tubs, only to find out the jets didn't work or they had other problems, this was a great treat. The cabin was private, clean and quiet. We hated to leave and head back into the heat wave. Loved the area and the owners were great to work with. The only issue we had was there were no directions on were to take the trash.

Relaxing in the Mountains

My husband and I, along with my dad, stayed at Lil Slice A Heaven and couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The pictures of the place are true to word. The kitchen was stocked with everything that you need to cook (we had boiled shrimp) and the out door grill was perfect for grilling hamburgers and BBQ chicken. The out door porch was THE place to be!! It is huge with a table and chairs for the cookout side dishes along with a loveseat and chairs for lounging...but the real treat is a front view of the local train coming and going at different times of the day (we didn't hear it when we went to bed). The home is nicely decorated and CLEAN!! and all the beds were comfy and not worn out as some that I've encountered at other rentals...that's a plus!! We enjoyed playing pool and darts as well as a late night hot tub lounging. We also enjoyed the "remotness" of the home as well as the walks along the stream the runs in front of the train. Talking with Clark (the owner) was a pleasure and he made it easy for us to set up the dates. We loved that his home is "pet friendly". My family and I will keep his home in mind for our next trip to TN/NC and we will recommeend this place to friends :o) Thanks Clark for all that you've donw to help make this stay worth the while!! Family vacation

The cabin was everything we anticipated and more. Very homey, lots of amenities and plenty of space. The location was great --- remote enough but not isolated. The kids enjoyed the river every day of our stay along with other day trips which were easily assessable in under an hour's drive. Owner was very helpful.
