Description of the Butler vacation home rental
A magnificent log home set atop the mountain with views of surrounding mountains. Watch the sunrise and sunset from every room as well as the wrap around decks. Northeastern Tennessee is the undiscovered "quiet corner" where Watauga Lake meets the Iron Mountain range for hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, hunting or just relaxin' with a good book and good friends,

Butler, TN is a small town with a big heart and you will be welcomed with a smile by the local citizens. Butler is the gateway to the Doe Mountain Recreational Area, for hiking, biking, riding an ATV and soon horseback riding. Permits for use are required and the hiking permits are included in a stay at the Lodge on Iron Mountain.

Built for comfort and convenience of guests, the Lodge has a gourmet kitchen complete with everything needed to prepare meals fit for a king, or your family; an outdoor grill so dad can "do his thing" and the sound of the gentle stream and waterfall just outside the house.,

Area Info
Butler, TN is the "town that wouldn't drown". Even though the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) drowned the original town when they built Watauga Lake, the citizens of Butler rebuilt their town in a new location and now people looking for small town values and friendliness are coming here as visitors, falling in love with the mountains and building or buying homes here.

We like to say we are 45 minutes or less from everything: hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring caves and waterfalls, swimming, boating or kayaking on Watauga Lake, attending live performances at Heritage Hall or Barter Theatre, enjoying the small town parades and celebrations such as 4th of July, Sunflower Festival, Scarecrows on Main, enjoying fine dining from Thai to Northern Italian to continental to barbeque, Mexican to American eclectic.
