Whispering Sands is located 200 yards from quiet beaches, features 180 degree views of ocean, views of the Hatteras Lighthouse, large pool, deluxe hot tub, elevator, game room, quiet residential neighborhood, short walk (3-4 blocks) to several restaurants, shops, coffee & ice cream shops, playground, and mini golf, which makes Whispering Sands THE place to spend your next vacation. The beaches in Buxton were also recently rated #7 in the entire US for 2009!
Spend your holiday or vacation at the beach with this luxury beach house located on the Outerbanks Hatteras Island! Treat yourself to stunning ocean, sound and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse views with easy beach access (200 yards), awesome fishing and surfing. The 4,100+ square foot retreat was designed with comfort, community and play in mind. Six master suites (each with private bath), 10' ceilings throughout, and large rooms open to 2,100+ square feet of decks, giving you a feeling of spaciousness throughout.
There's something for everyone with the great room, featuring dramatic 20' cathedral ceilings, family room, den, game room, 2-car garage, large heated pool and deluxe 7-person hot tub. The elevator makes this an ideal retreat for families with older members and small children, as well as handicap friendly. WHISPERING SANDS is equipped with high-speed internet access, but we recommend doing your surfing on the waves!
Ground Floor: Play pool (8' table), foosball, cards or over 2 dozen board games in the large game room while enjoying the kitchenette wet bar amenities (microwave, full fridge with icemaker). Sliding glass door access to heated pool, hot tub and grilling area. Lounge in the adjoining den (with Q sleeper, CTV, DVD and stereo). Master suite features 2 pyramid bunks (full and twin beds) and private bath (with HC roll-in shower). 2-car garage (auto opener, locked storage) with concrete drive provides all-weather entry to elevator and house.
1st Floor: Relax in 4 master suites (each with private bath, 1 handicap accessible) symmetrically arranged around the family room, wet bar (fridge, coffee station, table) and laundry (washer/dryer). Lounge in the family room on a large comfy sectional with a book or movie (CTV/DVD/VCR/home theater) from the 100+ video and book library collection, music (surround sound stereo), games, puzzles or access the deck with ocean and pool views.
2nd Floor: Savor your time in the 38' wide great room featuring dramatic cathedral ceilings (20') and memorable 180-degree panoramic ocean and Pamlico Sound views. Enjoy music (surround sound stereo), catch a movie (CTV/DVD/home theater), curl up in front of the fireplace or watch the breakers. The dining area is perfect for socializing and gatherings with seating for 14, breakfast bar (seats 4 additional) and wet bar. Cooks will enjoy the spacious and well-equipped kitchen (21' x 11') with pub table, pantry, over-sized fridge, 2 dishwashers, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and lighthouse views! 5 star rating!!! The house was great, the owners a delight to deal with and the agency was professional. It made for a great vacation. We were there in October 07. Great location, great house, great experience.
