Write a review We just finished a week staying in this apartment. It's great value and an easy walk to the Pyramids. Ashraf, the owner is very friendly and helpful. His brother Tarek is an exceptional tour guide who is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. When my wife slipped on a ramp into the Pyramids, Tarek went out of his way to take us to a private hospital, call the specialist doctor on his day off, and make sure she was well cared for. Ashraf took us to a large grocery store where we were able to stock up and cook for ourselves for the week. They're great people who make a really effort to ensure your stay is enjoyable. You feel safe and very well taken care of. When the internet connection didn't work, Ashraf had someone over restringing cable and all was well a couple of hours later. He gave us a mobile phone to use as well. The sound and light show is easy to see from the balcony or roof. If you stay more than a few days, you are sure to know the narration by heart in five languages. I was in Cairo to attend an engineering conference in Nov 2009 and brought my wife and two daughters with. We arranged this condo to be near the pyramids and away from the City Center. This condo is remarkable. It is absolutely solid and luxurious. Walk out on your balcony - and the great pyramids rise above you, morning and night, it is marvelous. And - the evening sound and light show is thus free! The neighborhood is safe, heavily trafficked by tourists, with many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The pyramids are a two-minute walk to the entrance. Most important of all, the condo owner, Ashraf, owns the entire building, and lives on the bottom floor. He attends to all your needs, helps with directions, advice, setting up drivers, tours, everything. All while helping get you the correct and fair price. Ask Ashraf to arrange Ishmael as your driver if you want to take day trips into town or elsewhere. He is a conservative, careful, middle-aged driver who knows his way everywhere. It was like living with family. The neighborhood is completely safe at any hour of day or night. The condo has comfortable beds, excellent kitchen appliances, and high-speed DSL/internet. Feel free to contact me. What can I say more, Pyramids, Sphinx, light show, from your own balcony!!! The place is super clean, well furnished. On top of it, Ashraf is really a good person; he will really take care of you during your stay! It was a privilege to get to know him. Villa in the Sky is the PERFECT place to stay for a GREAT vacation in Egypt. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay. You'll have an amazing view of the Giza Pyramids right out of every window and from the spacious balcony (and even roof-top). The experience of staying right where friendly Egyptians live was awesome. The place is very safe. Having Ashraf,the owner, living in the same bldg is a huge plus. He helped us plan our itinerary (and has a lot of contacts) and made sure we got the best deals. He even helped us shop in the local stores. Ashraf hooked us up with just about everything, which makes for a hassle-free vacation. We had direct access to riding camels and horses right on the Sahara desert (right outside our apt). We just walked to the shops and local restaurants. There's no better way to travel than by Ashraf's relatives private driver/van. The apt is clean and spacious. Lotsa room! Great views!!! We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to Egypt.!! Villa in the Sky is clean and spacious and the famous views of the great Pyramids is truly amazing you are getting the true cultural experience staying were Egyptian people live. Ashraf is the perfect host who took great pleasure making sure our stay was perfect, took us around local shops etc. We felt lucky to have spent time with Ashraf’s father Moses who has a wealth of history and made our tours interesting, with lot of fun. Thank you Moses it was a pleasure. If you have the opportunity to go with Moses and visit Memphis, you will see a statue of Ramses II that Moses found during the 1960’s, pointed out to us by a local “This is Moses statue”. Everything can be arranged for you. I could write pages on everything, but to truly experience it you have to be there and see the views and apartment. Ashraf’s hospitably made this a very special time. Thank you very much you made our holiday very fulfilled. If you are reading this review then you have not picked a better place to Great apartment with an unbelievable view of the pyramids from every window. The owner, Ashraf, could not have been more helpful. He helped us arrange all of our travel plans; driver, guide, good places to eat, etc. We have traveled to a lot of places, but Egypt is a place that you need a little help and Ashraf provided that. He even took us shopping himself. Highly recommend this apartment. Great vacation. Thanks, Ashraf. Staying in this apartment has added greatly to the experiences that we had in Cairo-Giza, Egypt. The apartment has been well worth time and money to secure it. The added feature that you can not determine until you are there is the hospitality that Ashraf has shown. The rooms are very spacious and have a wonderful view of the three pyramids of Giza. This has been truely and excellent experience. I have to keep reminding myself that I am in Egypt! If we are priveledged to return to Egypt, this will be the first contact that I make and tell Ashraf--"I am coming again!" This apartment, with it's amazing view, exceeded expectations. Everything about it was great. Ashraf was very helpful. He helped us plan our itinerary, provided us with a driver when we needed one, gave us good suggestions for restaurants, and even took us around Giza himself! Services was very reliable and honest. If I go to Giza again I would stay at Villa in the Sky. Recently stayed in this apartment which is situated 5mins walk from the entrance to the Giza pyramids. The apartment itself is very modern and spacious and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. You can just sit there on the balcony and absorb all the local culture. The owner (Ashraf) was very helpful. He gave us a mobile phone so that we could contact him anytime. He lived in the same building so was always nearby to answer questions. He also helped to sort out our trip to Luxor and his brother is a guide at the Egyptian museum so arranged for us to have a private tour of the museum which was really excellant. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby (KFC and pizza hut!) and the local people are very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend it if you want to sample some real Egyptian Culture with the added bonus of having the pyramids on view for 24 hours a day. The apartment is beautiful, with a view you will never get from a hotel room. It is spacious, clean,safe,has all of the amenities, and you can't beat the price. The best part is having Ashraf nearby.He helped us in so many ways. Arranged a driver, where to eat, a guide(his Dad has been a guide at the Egyptian Museum 49 yrs.)& even took us shopping! We only had 5 days in Egypt, and were able to see and do more than we would possibly be able to do on our own in such a short time. We are experienced travelers, but Egypt is a place where you might need a little help & you can't do better than Ashraf. The renter Ashraf El Shaer is a perfect host, reliably and always takes care of his guests not only for arrival and departure. Best of all is view from balcony, master b/room, rooftop, even toilet and kitchen: the pyramids and Sphinx! Lay in bed amazed at view! Saw sound and light show nightly from balcony. In a small village which group tours only see as they pass through in their massive a/c conditioned buses. Getting there is a visual treat not for snobs - camels, donkeys on road; the apartment (and a studio next door on same top floor) is reached through a large metal gate of this quiet 4 story family owned home. Apartment is private but people there if you need help. After a couple of days, we were known by shopkeepers. Ashraf arranged van to pick our family up at airport as well as take us on longer trips. He also took us grocery shopping, introduced us to local restaurant - very good food. His brother is a tour guide at museum. Downtown Cairo short taxi drive across Nile. Cannot recommend highly enough!
