Description of the Cairo vacation home rental

This completely renovated home is snuggled right next to a beautiful golf course in a little hamlet called Roundtop NY in the Catskill mountains. It is located 25 minutes west of Hunter Ski mountain and 25 minutes south of Windham Ski mountain so it is the perfect spot if you're looking to enjoy different ski mountains. This home has 3 bedrooms and 1 bath on almost 3 acres. The land has a nice stream that flows through the middle of the property. Blackhead Mountain lodge and Country Club is adjecent to the property. Blackhead has a beautiful old world German bar and restaurant and is know for breathtaking views along the course. It is actually walking distance of less than 100 feet from the property.
The house has brazilian Tigerwood hardwood floors with large travertine tile in the kitchen. It has central air conditioning and heat. The master bedroom has a high quality pillowtop matress on a King size bed with solid oak furniture. The room also has a 42" plasma TV with Directv and surround sound. The other 2 bedrooms have queen/Full sized beds. The full bathroom has marble walls and a beautiful solid wood vanity with a granite top. The kitchen is completely brand new with beautiful Mocha marked cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The stove is a dual fuel stove so you can cook with propane on the top and use electric or convection oven for baking. There is also a coffee/espresso maker,blender,heating oven and microwave. The house is equiped with 2 sets of dinnerware, a blender, plenty of pots, pans,baking sheets, cutting boards, carving knives, pyrex, casserole dishes, spices, and many other cooking products. You can feel at home with all the items you need to cook just about anything.
There is a very large living room with 2 oversized sofas that will comfortably sleep 1 adult and 1 child (or small adult),and a large oversized sofa chair. The living room has a 50" plasma TV with surround sound and Directv with DVR.There is also a 100" theater screen with a projector and blueray dvd player so you can watch your favaorite movies in style. I keep a collection of about 40 dvds in the house along with 15 or so boardgames for those rainy/snowy nights. The house has high speed wireless internet. A washer and dryer is available for use at no charge.
The back deck is complete with adirondack chairs, an outside bar, large gas grill, beer cooler and a great view of Blackhead Mountain. Its the perfect place to sit back enjoy a cigar and listen to nothing. We also recently added a 6 person Coleman Spa hottub if you need to sit and relax after a long day of skiing or golfing. I recommend turning all of the lights off in the house and sitting in the hottub at night. You can see every star along with shooting stars.
Pets are allowed with preapproval and can enjoy a 2500sf fenced in pet run. Please no smoking inside the house but you are welcome to enjoy your cigarette outside. There will be 2 sets of linens for each bed and 8 bath towels provided for your stay. A Maid service or final cleaning can be arranged at an addition cost if requested.
Directions to the house are very easy. If you are coming I87 (NYS Thruway) north take exit 20 (Rte 32 or Saugraties) exit and take 32 north for a total of 11 miles. Approximatly 5 miles or so on 32 bear right onto 32 north at the blinking light. Go another 5 miles or so and make a left onto Hearts content rd.(There is a large sign that says Purling/Roundtop area). Go approximatly 4 miles until you see 2 fire departments on the left side. Take your next left after the fire dept onto Blackhead Mountain rd. Take that a mile to the top of the hill and go strait through the 4 way intersection. The house is second on the left.

This house is situated in the perfect area for both Skiers and Golfers.

Right next door to our property is Blackhead Mountain Lodge and Country Club. You can eith enjoy a game of Golf,relax at the bar or enjoy an amazing meal in the German restaurant. Please see the attached link for more details.

The house is a few miles away from rte 32 which brings you out to Hunter mountain. It takes about 25 minutes to get there or you can go about 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the house and get to Windham mountain. The location of the house is pretty much in the middle. Directions will be at the house to either site.

We are appoximately 8 miles from East Durham, home of the Irish Festival on Memorial day weekend. East Durham also has Zoom Flume water park, a great day for the kids. Please see the attached link posted below for info on East Durham.

Hunter Mountain is one of two major ski areas nearby. During the summer they host various ethnic festivals including the famous German Alps Festival. Their lift remains open during the summer for a breathtaking ski-ride.

I have gone above and beyond to make sure you have almost everything you need to stay. I have at least 15 board games for those rainy snowy nights. I have a collection of about 40dvd movies for the 100 inch tv to watch. I have an xbox for the kids with about 10 games available.
I also have items that you normally wouldnt think of but are needed like, candles, OFF bug spray, launfry detergent, spices for cooking,and you are also welcome to use any condiments that may be left in the fridge.

We had a truly wonderful time at the house - couldn't have been better. And for such a reasonable price! The house was very clean and the kitchen was great to cook in. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the projector. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby (a 20min drive away) with waterfalls and spectacular views. It was such a great escape from the city. Can't wait to plan another stay here!

My husband and I went to this place for columbus Day weekend meeting up with family. We had a wonderful time. The house was beautifully decorated, the color of the foliage was beautiful, the hot tub was so romantic. We went in the hot tub at night and looked at the stars. We also enjoyed the hiking trail that was close by. The water falls were scenic. The owner was extremely friendly. He certainly made our stay enjoyable. We really recommend it and would love to go back.

Well all of the previous reviews told you a little about the owner and his brother being very hospital and that they are! But no one told you about the hiking trails close by with water falls and covered bridge(Winter Clove Inn), the great little restaurant/bakery-Hartmans, Massamans' Restaurant within walking distance and the quaint town of Hudson and very good food (Mexican Radio & Vico Restaurants on Warren Street). Hudson is across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge take 23, it is about 25-30 minutes. The house, area and owner are Fantastic! We are heading back at the end of the month! THANK YOU JIM George

Hi Jim, We would like to share the experience we had so it may be beneficial to others as well. We really had a great time this summer, vacationing in your Round Top, New York house. My wife Esther and I, and the kids really enjoyed the stay. Starting with your house, The house is a very comfortable house located on a private quiet road. The house is kept very clean and well sophisticated, central air with a nice newly renovated kitchen equipped with high end appliances. A real Gem! Your hospitality was great and so your responsibility. Any problem we may have, you were there to assist. The kids really had a great time and enjoyed every minute of our stay (not to forget the fish tank), and all because of you, who made it happen and wasn’t expensive too. We arrived from Florence, Italy after a few days visiting New York, to have some relax with our two sons (12 and 4 years old). We all (and especially the kids) had a great time, with a lot of fun with the hot tub, the enormous screen and the fabulous atmosphere around. We rented this place for the long weekend and had a blast! It has a very comfortable living room area with big LCD and even bigger motorized movie screen and great sound system (grab a few of your favorite DVDs and watch them the way God intended - on a big, I mean, really big screen:). The kitchen appliances are top notched. The property also sports a porch and a huge outdoor jakuzi. First thing my kid did. though, was pushed a wrong button on the master remote, and it's the lights out, no more TV (keep your kids away from the remote - you've been warned!:), and Jim, the owner, was so nice - he came over the next day from far away and fixed it! Granted, there's not too much to do in the Catskills this time of the year, but we enjoyed the Bailwick petting zoo, the Howe Caverns, and just sitting on the porch in peace and quiet, listening to the stream running through the backyard was pretty nice too. We'll most certainly book again in the summer when the water park is open. Thanks, Jim.

As the other reviews say, this house is a cozy, confortable, and enjoyable establishment. Ski resorts and a shopping center are close by and you can walk out of the house to the trail up to Blackhead. The TVs are flat and large, the hot tub is hot and bubbling, the sofas are large and comfy, the kitchen is sleek and modern, and the owner is friendly and easy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Staying at Blackhead Mountain in James Glorioso's home made our Christmas at home in the Catskill's a treat! The house was decorated for the holidays with a REAL tree and tons of lights!!! Our stay was delightful with Many amenities--not to mention the pillowtop beds, plasma TV's, awesome kitchen, oversized sofas, hot tub, grill, great deck!! The Maasman's restaurant and pub is a place we will definitely eat at whenever we return to the area--cozy ambience and within easy walking distance! Overall, a fantastic experience!

There is no "roughing it" here - all the amenities are there, including a beautiful kitchen, state of the art appliances, new hot tub,the latest in electronics,loads of TV stations on large screen TV's, a pretty setting in the woods, and next door to a golf course and restaurant. The owner was easy to deal with, and very helpful. All in all, great value for the money.!!

We had a great time ! This place has it all. Flat screen TV's, big kitchen with top of the line appliances, great outdoor barbecue, plenty of land. The golf course is a 2 minute walk, which has a great bar and restaurant. At this price, it's a a steal. We'll be back again next year for sure !!
