Description of the Calais vacation home rental

52 acres on a Sunny Vermont hillside. Custom built house is 2500 square feet with big Kitchen, open floor plan and great views of Spruce Mountain and a wetland area with pond. Stone patio off kitchen. Hot tub. Private bath for each bedroom. Upstairs bedroom has an adjacent room with a futon couch that can be used as a 3rd bedroom. . Well away from road and very quiet. DSL & WiFi Internet.We heat most of our domestic hot water from the sun and have supplemental PV panels on the roof.
We are surrounded by lots of ponds and lakes. Our favorite swimming spot is just a mile away at Cranberry Meadow pond. Use one of our 3 Bicycles to get there on our quiet dirt roads.There are 2 kayaks at the foot of the driveway on smith pond or they can be loaded on your car to go explore the 5-6 other nearby lakes.

We have a caretaker who lives in the cellar apartment in the house who takes care of the gardens and any housekeeping needs you may have. We have a canoe, 2 kayaks, and 3 adult bicycles for your use... No Pets...

Area Information

Great swimming at Cranberry Meadow Pond one mile down our quiet dirt road. We have a canoe with launch site for exploring and wildlife viewing on our pond. There are numerous other lakes and ponds close by. Extensive biking and hiking possibilities right out the door.

We are also four miles north of the village of Maple Corner which has a small general store and Post Office. It is a 25 minute drive to our capitol city Montpelier which has great dining and shopping opportunities.
