Perfect getaway!!

We stayed at Earl & Karen's cottage the week before Christmas. It was fabulous!! The cottage was very clean, close to everything, and Earl & Karen are so nice. I would definitely rent from them again. I'm very picky about where I stay, so I was thrilled at what a wonderful vacation rental this turned out to be. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. :-)

We have stayed here three times now and have had a great experience each time. Karen is so organized with her brochures of what do and where to eat. Everything is supplied in the very cute kitchen. The cottage is very spacious and central to many activities. You will not go wrong to stay there

We had a delightful, relaxed weekend in a lovely cottage overlooking the ocean. The location is ideal with a short walk to the village and Moonstone Beach nearby. Karen and Earl were extremely helpful in providing numerous brochures about the Cambria area. They introduced us to the cottage, then respected our privacy the rest of the weekend. We couldn't have had a nicer time.

Pleasant stay

We spent four days at this really pleasant cottage in Cambria. Two days were for my husband and me by ourselves, and for two days my brother and sister-in-law joined us. It was in a residential neighborhood, and a very pretty setting. We enjoyed staying in the house, walking around the neighborhood and visiting local places of interest. The cottage was very comfortable, and I loved looking out all of the windows to see the lovely view and sitting on the deck, looking out toward the ocean watching the sun set. My family couldn't get over how relaxing and nice the cottage was. We hope to return in the future.

Wonderful Rental!

3 of us rented Karen and Earl's cottage for four nights and had a wonderful time. The cottage is so cute and Karen and Earl, nice people, were respectful of our privacy. I highly recommend it. It was big enough that the 3 of us had our own space and they also allowed my dog to stay. I've told several friends about the cottage who were very interested in renting in - and the price was very reasonable.

The cottage was very clean, well equipped and spacious in a quiet, woodsy part of Cambria with lovely woodland and ocean views. I particularly enjoyed the large private deck as did my dog. The owners were helpful while being very respectful of my privacy. I have been visiting Cambria for 20 yeras and this is by far the best place I have found to stay, and the best value for the money too. Highly recommended!!

This rental exceeded our expectations. The night before we stayed in a tiny cramped "studio" for almost the same price. This place in Cambria was huge! More like an apartment, with a full kitchen and 2nd floor loft which we didn't even need to use. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and super dog friendly, which is always nice to experience. Very close to downtown Cambria. Cambria has the best restaurants, even for such a small town. Amazing beaches too.

Short but satisfying stay

Space was lovely and well-kept. Karen and Earl excellent hosts. Very roomy - two floors (with spiral staircase not great for dogs) that may be three times the size of a Cambria hotel room for the very same price including a complete kitchen. Great view of the sunsets over the Pacific. Dogs welcome, but a bit difficult to find decent walking or space to do "business" near the house.

Nice couple with 2 large, beautiful dogs-and kept our place clean! Need to mention that canine guests have access to our enclosed deck area that is fenced in. We also have a small side yard and dog friendly areas (a few uninhabited, grassy lots close by-to do "business") in the neighborhood.

Perfect Home Away From Home

Without a doubt the most complete, clean, comfortable, quiet, well-stocked rental home we have ever stayed in. The view from most all of the windows was magnificent and the owners we're available if needed, but not at all instrusive. I can't imagine renting a better vacation get-away for the money than this. And, to top it off, the view from upstairs was breath taking!

This was our first stay at Karen's Cottage and we had an absolutely wonderful time. My husband John and I stayed at the cottage along with our Boston Terrier, Abbie. The cottage was perfect from the amazing ocean views to all of the details such as lots of blankets, cute decorations, board games & DVDs, etc. Karen & Earl were so thoughtful to provide coffee creamers, popcorn, dog treats, etc. We can't wait to go back! Oh, and the forest trail in the Happy Hill neighborhood is so neat! Cambria is our favorite.

Our stay at Karen and Earl's property was amazing! The cottage is clean and well kept with a beachy theme. Even better than the pictures tell! It is handicap accessable with ramps and no stairs. The deck is all yours right outside the kitchen to cook steaks. You feel like you are almost in a treehouse with the views out all the windows of trees and the ocean.(the cottage is over their garage with a seperate walkway). The cottage has everything you will need for your stay. Karen and Earl are down to earth lovely people and there if you need any information but also give you the privacy of being on your own. Make sure you eat at the Main Street Grill for the best hamburgers ever. Gather beautiful rocks on Moonstone beach and take a bike ride in the lovely neighborhoods or along the ocean on Fiscalini Ranch. If you travel a couple hours up the coast to Monterey, don't miss Julia Pfieffer Falls. A short walk to a spectacular view. Eat at Bubba Gumps in Monterey on Cannery Row for the best Fish and Chips! Morrow Bay has it's own charms as well and if you love an old fashioned country breakfast try Carla's Country Kitchen on Beach street. Want fish? Try Giovani's on Embarcadero at the walk up window. Don't miss Crill's Taffy for the only home-made taffy in the area that is made right there. They have two locations near the beach. Back to the cottage. This would be lovely for a family as there is a loft and bedroom upstairs for kids, a place for their computer to play video games or watch movies. But we had plenty of space dowstairs for just the two of us with the Queen bed (sleeps well by the way) and full kitchen and living area. Just bring your clothes and groceries and you are all set. Karen and Earl are dog friendly too. We took our small Chihuahua. We are planning our next vacation there already! Stay for a week, there is so much to do! Thanks Karen and Earl for being such lovely hosts! I will recommend this to friends.

We had a fabulous stay at the Cambria Cottage! The cottage was decorated beautifully. It was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The owners provided everything needed down to such details as discount coupons for local eateries and retailers for us to use! We dined on the spacious deck and watched the sunset over the ocean. Wonderful place and lovely owners! We will not only go back, but also recommend it to our friends.

This guest house is roomy, private, and lovely. I shared it with two friends and we all agreed that it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. It was a great plus to have the convenience of a kitchen, and the warmth of a home to sty in. It is clear the owners take great pride in the home and in their rental clients.

My family stayed at Karen's Cottage for a week. It was the PERFECT getaway. The cottage is quaint, clean, and up to date; Karen and her hubster are warm, welcoming, and helpful. I brought my german shepherd and walked along the hill with BEAUTIFUL trees, deer, flowers, and bird calls every morning/evening. We walked down to town (it's not far) and cruised around talking to shop owners, unwinding from hectic seasons at work, and absorbing sunshine, fresh air, and cool breezes. Cambria is a majority-retired town and its good to know that before arriving, but Karen's was a PERFECT getaway.

All of the reviews before us were entirely accurate. The home is beautiful, the views are beautiful and the hosts are warm, inviting, and allow you your privacy. We took our puppy Kleo who greatly appreciated the fenced courtyard and the easy walks around the neighborhood and surrounding forests. Cambria and Cayucos are VERY dog friendly areas with beaches, paths, meadows, cafes, and everything else that dogs and their people enjoy.

Family Getaway

We went to Cambria for our niece's wedding. We wanted to spend our free time with our family. This was a wonderful home away from home to gather. Even our dog was welcome. The private patio looked out to a beautiful ocean view. Inside all 7 of us fit around the dining table. Everything was decorated so beachy. My husband and I needed to get away from the valley fog. This place it's cozy and comfortable. The owners provide all the amenities of a hotel and more. The best part is there is no obe in the room next to you blaring the TV or making noise and interrupting your peaceful getaway. The view from the main room is beautiful! I only wish we had been able to stay longer. We will definitely stay here again!

Three of us stayed in the cottage for one night and found it very comfortable. It is well positioned for exploring the local area, visiting Hearst Castle, the wineries and the beach in summer.

I went with two friends to the Cambria Cottage. Our experience it was amazing, we love it. The Owners make you feel very much at home. We have everything we were looking for. We highly recommend this place. The view is fantastic, lots of space, very conveniently located.

We are so happy we chose this rental. It suited our needs perfectly. We were looking for a place near the ocean that would be pleasant, quiet, and affordable. The owners provided every amenity possible and made sure that we had privacy. The house is neat, clean, and decorated nicely. We look forward to another stay in the near future!

My husband and I stayed here for a night with our 2 dogs last week and absolutely loved it! Karen & Earl greeted us and were wonderful hosts. The place was wonderful and it we loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Karen was very thoughtful with all the added touches! Anything we may have forgotten at home was already here if we needed it. She was very helpful in pointing out all the dog friendly places to go and even had some doggie treats for the pups upon arrival! We can't wait to come stay again, hopefull for longer next time! Thanks again Karen & Earl! Can't wait to recommend you to our neighbors who travel up to Cambria every year!

Karen and Earl Z. were very kind hosts. The cottage was clean. Ample linens. Kitchen was perfect. Increased my stay by one night. Nice view. Would reserve cottage again. Cambria is a beautiful place. Not to far from Hearst Castle, San Simeon, San Luis Obispo, and other places of interest.

We had a great time. What a great vacation home. Karen and Earl are wonderful and made us feel like we were very welcome. We brought our two dogs and left the kids at home with grandma. The house would be awesome for a family or even two families. There is tons of room. It is decorated so cute and you totally feel like you are at home. Everything you would need was right there at your fingertips! You have a full ocean view along with a view of the town. It's so convenient. There is also tons of wildlife around...Birds, deer, lizards, squirrels. You get the best of both worlds. The ocean and the mountains! I would definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone looking to getaway for the weekend or even a week. We can't wait to go back!

There were eight of us older ladies who stayed here and we had a great time and plenty of room. We all get along well so having the one bathroom was not a problem. Everything was very clean and things that we forgot to bring were in the home. Cambria is such a wonderful place.

Our stay at the Cute Cottage was just super. The hosts were very nice and ready to help in any way. The cottage was well stocked with just about everything and cozy. We hopefully can go back again, maybe next year, and take our dog, as they are welcome.

We (family with 2 teens) only stayed one night but absolutely loved the apt! Very clean, nicely decorated and much larger than we expected. Peaceful and quiet area, near shops and great restaurants. Karen and Earl are wonderful hosts!

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful cottage for 2 nights. The owners of this residence didn't miss a beat when thinking of everything to make our stay comfortable. This cottage is well stocked (DVD's, magazines, kitchen supplies, etc). The residence is not far from downtown, but yet your secluded from the noise, and up a hill that makes you think your totaly secluded. There is also a deck off the main cottage with a barbecue grill and tables in case you want to sit and view the ocean.

A lovely cottage with a nice view of the ocean. The owners are friendly and love dogs...a BIG PLUS for me. Great price for the space and location. Close to beautiful hiking trails and Moonstone beach. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

My husband and I (and our three dogs) spent two comfortable, relaxing nights here Memorial Day weekend. The view is wonderful and the cottage was very comfortable. There was no cell phone reception but free wi-fi was provided. A highlight is having morning coffee on the deck, watching the colors over the ocean change as the sun rises (loved it!). This place is a great value and we would definitely stay here again. Thanks Karen and Earl for a wonderful stay!

Very pleasant guests! Need to add that a new cell tower has since been added to the town. There is better reception for most cell phones now.

My parents (who are in their 80's) and I (54) stayed here for one night, and we wish that we had stayed here a couple of more nights. Karen was so nice, and her cottage (actually several rooms over a detached garage) was quiet, clean, well-lit, and had a decent view of the ocean, which was a few blocks away. Little or no traffic noise-- we slept great. Comfortable beds, nice upstairs area via a spiral staircase. Wifi was a necessity for me, and it worked perfectly. Two minutes from town. It was the best bargain of our entire two-week trip to Oregon and back. And Karen could not have been nicer.

This peaceful cottage was everything it was described as and more. Pictures do not capture the oceanview and comfortable living area. It was quiet and serene...just what we were looking for in a get away to the coast. Thanks to the owners for making our stay so special. We miss Cambria and will be back!

quiet secluded, view of the ocean from the hill side, i loved the cottage. I exceptionally loved the setting in the cottage, that would be my ideal place to stay for a week. I would be very content staying there, waking up and sitting in the corner chair reading a good book, and enjoying the view. Close to the scenic dr, within walking distant to main street,truly a place to stay in as my home and enjoy. Or a great weekend retreat, to cuddle up with your loved one and enjoy total quietness and peace. Karen and her husband are great hostess, left us alone, and provided us with anything we needed

Karen and Earl go to the extra mile to make you feel like home. Their place is impeccable and clean, very well stocked. The neighborhood is lovely and the neighbors friendly. We stayed two days over the weekend and didn't see much of the hosts, their home has its own private entry. I menrioned to Karen that were planning on going Wine Tasting with our young kids, and she took the time to look for possible winery destinations where they would have fun, as well as other area attractions. I highly recommend this 3 bed cottage, the sunset view was incredible, as well as the nearby sound of the ocean! We will definitely be back!

This guest house was a terrific solution for us because we prefer to travel with our dogs. There was far more room than we really needed for just the two of us (the unit can easily sleep 4 adults between the upstairs room and the downstairs queen bed). There's even a twin bed in the loft area upstairs for additional sleeping space. The kitchen was clean and functional. The one bathroom is downstairs, making the unit perhaps a better 'privacy' fit for a family than for two couples (since the downstairs queen bed isn't separated from the living room and kitchen area). All-in-all this is a really nice, clean unit that served us well. The hosts (charming folks who live in the main house immediately adjacent to this unit) were available when we arrived to greet us but were quiet throughout the duration of our stay-- we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves and never felt like we were 'sharing' the property.

Relying on the pictures and the reviews, I took my family for a 4-day trip and it was fantastic. Karen, you are amazing, so thoughtful. The cottage exemplifies how much you care for your guests staying there. Views are beautiful, close to everything. I already miss my coffee in the morning and my wine at sunset on the terrace. I can't wait to return to work to tell all my friends about it. I will definitely have many returns. Thank you and Earl for being wonderful hosts.

This was a lovely cottage that was thoughtfully stocked and decorated. Great location to town and Moonstone Beach. The owners were very kind and conscientious. Despite the fact that the cottage was on their property, we did not see them much at all. This cottage is a gem and you will be glad you stayed here.

This place was such a great deal! very clean, nice owners, great view. So cute! very confortable. I stayed with my two dogs and husband and we both loved it! You get alot of room for the price. We looked around Cambria and everything was so expensive and small. This was perfect!
