~This is for an entire house across from a PRIVATE lake. Approx 6 miles from the mountain~.
with 2 decks,the front looks out at the Lake, the back has a grill and of course the hot tub. FP, 2 cable TVs one is a wide screen, DVD, CD, VCR, stereos. Acclaimed Master bedrm with King bed, huge bthrm with 2 person tub. A Great Room that has a reading area, a dining area, and a cable TV area, with a floor to ceiling hand cut stone fireplace. Fish, Swim, boat(no motor) on site or travel a short distance to the state parks, wildlife refuge, natl forest etc.

Escape the heat of Summer (temperatures rarely exceed the mid 80's with little or no humidity and gentle mountain breezes!) and enjoy a broad spectrum of activities in the National Forest with epic mountain bike trails or gentle and scenic rail/trails! Visit some of the east's wildest areas in two Federal Wilderness Areas or the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Your family can play in our State Parks with trails, golf, scenic lift rides, nature hikes, kids activities, swimming, and much more!

Your family will enjoy our quaint mountain towns and shop or browse in our many antique, gift, and specialty shops or enjoy some fairs and festivals. Around the Fourth of July, you can enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. Visit Blackwater Falls, one of West Virginia's most photographed sites.
Canaan is a 4 season vacation spot. Winter averages over 150 inches of snow. Makes for a spectacular spring. No need for AC because humidity is typically no existent. Cool mountain beezes offer relief from the summer heat while still making swimming in our private lake refreshing. And FALL is undescribable. You may never se a more spectacular display of colors anywhere!!

Whether there is snow or not outside your window, I don't know but Canaan is approaching 260" of snow so far, a winter paradise for sure. Winter evaporates quickly into a crisp, vibrant Spring~Summer season.
It’s a high mountain paradise with more miles of trail than road, more designated wilderness areas than traffic lights, more room to roam, and more adventure than you can shake a hiking stick at. From the rugged beauty of the Blackwater Canyon to the pristine back country of the Dolly Sods wilderness, it’s a world untouched unhurried, and unrivaled.
