Description of the Canadian Lakes vacation cottage rental

Newly built year round A-frame cottage on Canadian Lakes in Stanwood, MI - one hour north of Grand Rapids. Lakefront property on a quiet no-wake lake that connects to a chain of lakes which include all-sports boating. Private 40 foot sandy beach with shallow walk out, dock, and a large surrounding grassylawn area. Spacious deck facing west (a beautiful view of spectacular sunsets!)
Modern cottage with all the amenities: central air,furnace,built-in sound system, ipod docking, flat screen HDTV & DVD player. Gas fireplace, microwave, all rooms fully furnished & fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, gas grill, ceiling fans. (Linens & towels provided) Patio furniture with 2 umbrellas for shade, lawn games, fire pit. 3 bedrooms: 2 on main floor and 1 master bedroom upstairs (2 queen beds, 1 bunk bed), sleeper sofa in living room. 2 full baths, washer and dryer in basement.
This cottage is part of Canadian Lakes Association which gives you access to tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, children's playgrounds, small fitness center, restaurants & golf courses. Three private courses at Canadian Lakes and 2 of the best golf courses in Michigan within 3 miles: Tullymore (which is ranked 15th in the nation) and St. Ives. (Available for fall golfing too!)
It also has it's own private air strip.
The lakes are great for fishing and kayaking...especially in the morning and early evening when you will see the family of loons and other species of birds, along with the wild turkey and deer!
Our cottage is walking distance to the local ice cream shop, grocery store and pizza parlor!
Pontoon boat & kayaks (2) available for additional charge.
Winter time: Cross country skiing, snowmobiling and ice skating!

Canadian Lakes is located in Stanwood which is in Montcalm county. It's a convenient drive only 15 minutes east of highway 131 (exit 131). You will drive through quaint Amish farm country and rolling hills on your way there! Be sure to stop at the Amish road-side stands where they will sell fresh produce and home-baked goods and jellies!
There are 5 golf courses within 3 miles of the lakes; a local grocery store, gas station, movie rental shop, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Mt. Pleasant is a short 45 minute drive where there is a popular casino, Soaring Eagle, and more fabulous golf courses. Horeseback riding available at a ranch nearby. Grand Rapids is 1 hour south and Traverse City is 90 minutes north.

In the winter the golf courses are groomed for cross country skiing and the lake is perfect for ice skating. There is downhill skiing available in Cadillac (about 1 hour north)and snowmobile trails nearby.
