Lake House, 3-levels, 3 decks, right on the lake!

Description of the Canton vacation cabin rental

Beautiful, well maintained, 3 level lake home with 1,800 square feet! This home is located right on the lake with approximately 100 feet of lake frontage. The home features 3 decks overlooking the lake (one on each level). All of the decks have porch swings and the second level deck is completely screened in so that bugs will not bother you at all. The nightly rate is for renting the entire home (all 3 levels) and gives you access to all amenities on the property. A list of the home's features by level:

Loft: The loft is primarily a sleeping quarters. There is a very large king bed, a twin bed and a trundle bed that sleeps two when the lower bed is pulled out. This level sleeps 5 comfortably, especially two adults and three kids. The level also has a full bath with shower and a small deck with porch swing.

Main Level: This area of the house is where you'll spend most of your time. There is a laundry area as you enter with full-size washer and drying and a coat closet. The kitchen is in outstanding condition and has a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. All utensils and cooking accessories are available for your use. There is also a table in the kitchen that seats four. The master bedroom is on the main level. There is also a full bath with shower and a nice sized living room area. The living room has a 27 inch t.v. with Dish Network access and DVD player. The main level deck is huge and completely screened in. There are two porch swings on this level. This is a favorite place to view the lake and relax - possibly read a book.

Lower Level: The lower level features beautiful, half-log cedar siding throughout! There is a 7-ft bar style pool table with automatic ball return. The felt and table are in very good condition! There is also a sectional couch (including hide-a-bed), and another t.v. with Dish Network. There is a wet bar area on this level, including a dorm sized refrigerator for refreshments! This level also has a very large deck that overlooks the lake.

Outside: The home has approximately a 100 ft. "boardwalk" that runs across the entire front of the property. Their is also a very large dock that extends into the water that is excellent for fishing and sunbathing! The home has a paddleboat that can also be used by guests. Lastly, there is a 14-foot slide that has its own dock as well. Guests would need to sign an injury liability waiver to use the slide. We've never had any injuries, but I'm sure you understand why this document needs to be signed to use the slide. Our kids love the slide! There is a gas grill on site for your use, as well as a fire pit for evening fires and making smores with the kids.

You are welcome to bring your own fishing boat and can enter the boat near the lake's beach area. Please note: the lake has a 10 horsepower limit on all motors. Also, the lake does not allow water skiing or jet skis. The lake is a small private lake and is extremely peaceful and relaxing. Most people on the lake enjoy taking out their boats for a leisurely ride, pulling kids behind the boat on a tube, swimming and fishing. The lake has excellent fishing for bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish.

We require a $200 security deposit for up to a 2-night stay, $300 for 3-4 nights, and $500 for 5 or more nights. The deposit is returned if there is no damage to the property. There is also a $75 cleaning fee. Weekend nights are $169/night. This home is only 5-10 minutes off Hwy 27/61 (Avenue of the Saints). Please email me if you're interested.

This home is very close to St. Patrick, MO. The closest town with shopping is Canton, MO. Canton has a Pizza Hut, Subway, County Market grocery store, and is home to Culver Stockton College. Quincy, IL is approximately 40 minutes away and you're 2 hours from St. Louis, MO and 2 hours from Cedar Rapids, IA.

Lagrange, MO has a Terrible's Casino that is only 25-30 minutes from this lake house!

 Two Couples' Get-Away, August 13, 2009

My husband & I and our friends were looking for a place to truly get away from it all for a few days. Wow, did we find it! Every level has its own deck with a gorgeous view, as does the boardwalk. We read books on the decks - hard to concentrate for the view! We floated on the peaceful water. We took the paddle boat out. We even went down the slide (kids at heart). Every meal was eaten on the picnic table by the door, and most meals were cooked outside. There's plenty of room inside, but this was the most serene environment & we just couldn't resist enjoying it every possible minute! The home is so beautiful, though, we wouldn't have minded being rained in, either. We'd love to make this a regular get-away!

 

 Family Retreat, August 9, 2009

My family and I were looking for a relaxing end to a busy summer and we found it. The lake house is comfortable and inviting. It provided plenty of room for our large family of five kids, my wife and I. My kids range from age 6 to 18 and they all had a great time. The lake is serene and very clean. We used the paddle boat and slide constantly and fished both from the dock just out the lakeside door and our small boat, there is easy access to a boat ramp less than 1/2 mile from the house. We spent a little time both in Canton, MO and Keokuk IA (both less than a 30 minute drive)Usually, at vacations end, we say it's good to be home...not this time. If you are looking for relaxation on a pretty lake with excellent accomadations this place is great, and the Shehans were very accommodating and excellent to deal with.

My husband and i were looking for somewhere to go that was affordable and relaxing. we came across this website and that it looked like a good choice and it turned out to be a very good choice. If you like to fish our go out on paddle boats this is an awesome place to stay. Its great for just couple of people or for a whole family. there is a waterslide right off the dock and plenty of room to fish right off the dock. The cabin itself is very very clean and is very homey. My husband and i both loved it and will go back in the future for sure. when we got home and told our family about it they all said they would like to go down some time too. Its a lot of fun and very relaxing. I would reccomend it to anyone.

This was a dream come true for our second honeymoon. My husband and I enjoyed coffee every morning on the screened in deck as we watched the fog roll over the lake. We especially enjoyed the ride around the lake on the peddle boat. The house was clean, well kept, and had everything we needed. By the second day we had forgotten about all of the things that keep us in "high gear" with our jobs,back home! No ringing phones, doorbells, dogs barking, sirens or traffic noises. Just the sound of bullfrogs, birds and crickets! This was by far the most peaceful getaway we have ever had. Our children were away at Summer Camp during our stay but as soon as we arrived, we realized how perfect this would be for a family vacation! My family and I had a wonderful time! The home is beautiful and very clean and well kept. We enjoyed swimming and fishing from the large dock. This is a very peaceful and relaxing area! My only regret is that our stay was too short. We would love to come back next year.
