The owner has thoughtfully accessorized the home to make your stay as convenient and luxurious as possible. Bring your own boat or rent one and dock it on the private dock. There is only one bridge (clearance of 9.25’) to the Gulf of Mexico.
Cape Coral is all about waterfront living, with over 400 miles of canals. Take to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico in a boat - bring your own or rent one. Many boat rental facilities offer to bring it right to your dock so no tow hitch is needed! This is an ideal location for your vacation stay.
Take in the sites all around you! Shopping, fine dining, cafes, spas, golf courses, beaches and more. Take in a show at the Broadway Palms Dinner Theatre, visit Edison and Ford’s winter homes. How about the water slides at Sunsplash Water Park or enjoy the day at the Shell Factory that also offers an Animal Park.
The Lazy Pelican is located about 30 minutes from the Southwest Florida airport (RSW) and across the river from Fort Myers. This places you minutes away from magnificent Sanibel and Captiva Islands which are famous for shelling, the sugar white sands of Fort Myers Beach or Bonita Springs and the artist colony at Matlacha. Nearby tourist attractions include the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins Spring training facilities in Fort Myers and an abundance of golf courses.

Everything about our vacation experience was great! The property management - both remote and local - was very responsive, friendly and helpful. Everything in the contract, photos and home were exactly as pictured and promised. When booking sight unseen from the internet, it is quite a leap of faith that things will be as pictured. The photos actually don't do the house or canal views justice - both are far better than we expected! The location is convenient to everything we wanted to do and see. If I had to find one negative thing, it would be that the solar-heated pool never warmed up enough to get in - and we still enjoyed the lounge chairs and outdoor dining table pool-side. Wish I could live here year-round. I definitely plan to come back to this property!!

our stay at the lazy pelican was great. this was our first vacation as a a new family of 6. everything from the beach to ft. myers is about 15 minutes away. we stopped at wal-mart on our way to the house for food and bait, and nobody wanted to leave the house for the first 3 days. they swam and went fishing. rest and relaxation! the house has everything right down to beach towels and an automatic garage door opener. the only thing missing was a tv in the guest rooms, the kids wanted to hook up there video games. this house is beautiful and very clean.
