St. Joe Bay Peninsula (Cape San Blas) offers access to bay on one side of the street and beautiful white sugary sand beaches on the other side. Visit St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and the lighthouse, both, within a couple of miles from the house. The newly renourished beach is stunning and shelling is excellent.
Visit the quaint towns of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola for great dining and unique shopping. Don't miss enjoying some of Apalachicola's oysters, some say they are the very best!
Eco-tours, boat rentals, sailing, fishing charters are available. Tour the beautiful historic homes, botanical gardens, brand new Veterans Memorial Park and the Eustarine Research Center (great for kids, as they have large tanks with a variety of fish, turtle and other marine life for viewing. Plus, a short nature walk to a boardwalk overlooking the marshes for wildlife viewing. In addition, a museum of indigenous florida wildlife i.e., florida black bears, alligators, snakes, fox, all located in close by Apalachicola.
