Hapu ii is a rare and beautiful native tree fern found on this very private and quiet six acre setting on the edge of a tropical rainforest. Stay in a comfortable, newly restored and well constructed former pig and turkey hunting cabin in a pristine tropical oasis! The house dates from the past when the area was one large estate and the cabin was the original building. It is ideal for couples or individuals seeking solitude. Experience the cooler, moist, refreshing air at the 1800' elevation. View sunsets on the ocean, in the distance, from your own huge lanai....as well as some coastline views all the way to the lights of Kailua-Kona. You will be looking through centuries old trees which flower in red and the more rare orange and yellow. The cabin is surrounded by forest and massive trees and two types of giant tree ferns. All are home to many rare colorful native birds. Only two miles down to sea level and you can enter unique black Pebble Beach for swimming, snorkeling, easy kayak launching and whale sightings (in winter). The cabin is also convenient to everthing the Big Island has to offer. There are many great beaches nearby by driving or hiking in, but all outstanding and different. There is Honomalino Beach (black sand, private, easy to enter the water), Milolii Beach Park, Hookena (famous for spinner dolphin sightings), Place of Refuge National Park (with Hawaiian cultural displays from the 1500's and excellent snorkeling) and awesome Kealakekua Bay. All these are a 30 minute drive or less away. It is also an easy drive into Kailua-Kona for extensive shopping, dining, movies and boat harbor. Or Volcanos National Park is an easy day trip away.

Cabin is very private in a gated area....definately in the woods, yet convenient to the belt highway.
