Description of the Captiva Island vacation cottage rental
Our Captiva’s Pet Friendly Coquina Cottage is comfortable and accommodating. Our 400 square foot open floor plan can accommodate a variety of vacationers. The 20’ sliders open to a 25’x 9’ deck the overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and the lush landscaping. The deck welcomes you for barbecuing, relaxing or just enjoying the Gulf breezes amidst our beautiful coconut grove. Coquina Cottage's upper studio comes complete with mini kitchen with oven, 2 burner stove, and mini refrigerator with freezer, indoor and outdoor dishware, serving and cooking utensils, coffee maker all available for anything from snacks to a romantic dinner. Coquina's downstairs suite has a full kitchen with a full refrigerator/freezer, 4 burner stove and oven, and all of the dishware necessary for your cooking needs. Returning from the beach, 2 outdoor showers for rinsing and the downstairs patio is open for organizing your beach treasures, relaxing with a good book or getting the umbrella ready for the day at the beach. Our sea grape canopy is always ready for your outdoor enjoyment, enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at our outdoor dining room.
Gazing at the evening stars may be on the agenda and our soft spa is ready. The soft spa has been equipped with shower and a place for your towel or robe. Our lighting leads the way for a nighttime beach walk or a moonlight swim. Honeymooners want to stay in your cozy bed & lazily watch Captiva's gorgeous sunrise or sunsets, frolicking dolphins, surfers, shorebirds, sail boats and more from the best, unobstructed western view on Captiva? All are yours before getting out of bed! Coquina offers balmy tropical breezes, barefoot shelling and unmatched sunsets to enhance this unique romantic setting.
Area Information
A short walk to Sanibel’s quaint Santiva Village and Blind Pass where the outdoor action is within easy reach! Every guest is pleasantly surprised. If shelling, body surfing, fishing, and sunbathing is too tame, take a short walk or a minute's drive to Sanibel's Santiva Village offering rental boats, sightseeing & shelling charters/bait shops, sport fishing; restaurants; grocery; souvenir shops and more. Adventurous guests will find savings left over for parasailing, jet skiing and even antiquing, just a quick drive to Sanibel's Ding Darling national wildlife refuge, and Captiva's historic village.
Coquina Cottage is about location. Captiva's first beach front cottage is about the view, salt air and the balmy breezes. Mostly, Coquina is about fun in the sun with Captiva's gorgeous beach right at your feet!

My Wife And I Had Just A Wonderful Time. I Am Not Bragging But We Travel A Lot This Stay I Think We Had A Better Time Than We Can Remember. The Whole Trip Was A 10. The Owners And Folks At The Reservation Office Are Super Nice. We Will Go Back Thank You For A Great Time

We enjoyed every minute so much! We are already planning our return. You Thought of every detail and we appreciated it. This is truly a Paradise. I have gotten so much rest and relaxation; and not looking forward to going back to the real world. We absolutely enjoyed the restaurants, the Jungle gallery was awesome. Amazing beauty of sun. palm breezes, salt air, a tasteful drizzle from blue skies and sunsets and rises that were calendar worthy.
Some wonderful things we did were; kayaking, snorkel, fishing, shelling, cooking out, rented a motor scope car and toured the island. We had delicious and outstanding dinners!! Spent quality time with family. Enjoyed talking with randy and the gardener.
The limes and coconuts were wonderful!! This cottage was cozy and private, we enjoyed everything about it! One week just wasn't enough, next time we will stay longer. Thank you for sharing your paradise with us and making us so comfortable and fell very welcome.

The weather was wonderful, warm, breezy, clear skies. Some of the wonderful things we did: swimming, fishing, grilling, finding seashells, and the list goes on....
We discovered sea urchin, hermit crabs, manatees in the wild.
Moments, glimpses and details that matter: spending quality time with our family, No rush.... Island time.

Coquina Cottage and the weather were heavenly; the amenities superb with Yin and Yang scattered everywhere about the property. Tonight is our last walk on the beach, soak in the hot tub and view of the sunset. We are sad to leave bur are planning to return with our children and "grands".
Mike, We enjoy our conversation with you on the beach and wish you continued good health. And last but not least, to the gardener, specially thank you for coming to our rescue on more than one occasion. PARADISE FOUND!!!

The weather was perfect, clear skies, last day rained. Wonderful things we did: kayaking, walking on the beach reading, family time in Coquina. We saw manatees, dolphins in the wild and all kind of sea shells. Moments that matter were: all the beautiful time with the family. This is a beautiful place to have a vacation and relax. We spent a great time here.

A much needed vacation from the Mid-West winter! Best spot on Captiva for a sunset! The owners were great hosts. Best meal and night of dancing was at Traditions on West Gulf Drive. Fishing was great! I caught 10 different species during our stay. Jill painted many nice sea scapes from the upstairs balcony for us to remember our week in paradise. We will return!!!
