Description of the Captiva Island vacation home rental

Please Note: Our home is only booked through Royal Shell Property Management on Captiva Island. All payments are made to Royal Shell Property Management. Please be aware that there are multiple internet fishing / email hacking scams that attempt to convince consumers to wire funds offshore. Our email response to your inquiry will include Royal Shell's local Captiva phone number. You will need to call them to book the property.

The most expedient way to reach us is via an email message. It may take longer for us to reply via phone. The stated weekly rental rates include all taxes and fees. There are no additional charges (see below.)

Captiva Island. “Happy Daze” - beautiful, child-friendly home with a very private, well heated pool. The home is a very short walk to the beach (the island is only about 600 yards wide, at its widest point) and shops and restaurants in the village.

Our single family home has four bedrooms with four attached full baths with one king bed, two queen beds, and two sets of bunk beds. There is also a fifth bedroom off the kitchen that is appropriate for children; it has a daybed and a fold-out couch. The house comfortably sleeps twelve people.

The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities. It also has wireless, broadband cable modem access.

This is a bright, cheerful and very comfortable home that is a wonderful place to bring your children for a vacation. Good fun for all; lots of board games, children’s videos and TV, ping-pong and pool tables by the pool! Come see the dolphins, manatees and river otters swimming nearby!

The pool is standard size, sloping to about six feet in depth at the deep end. Pool is kept heated to approximately 90 degrees year round to encourage children to swim and play in the pool, have fun and burn off energy! Please call in advance if you would like the pool temperature lowered.

The stated weekly rental rates include all taxes and fees. There are no additional charges.

Peaceful secluded getaway

The bird land house is a very spacious home. It is very well kept. We had a very relaxing stay there and are planning to return in the near future. We only stayed 3 days and I would recommend staying longer than that due to the involved process of coming and going from the island.

Captiva Christmas 2011

Everything about this house was great! We were able to have a big family getaway vacation just after Christmas and were there during New Years as well. The weather was amazing, and we were able to make a lot of great memories that our family will remember for a lifetime. We used all of the space provided in the house, but there was definitely plenty of it! The pool, hot tub, and ping pong table were each a big hit with several of us. We loved the location and proximity to the beach. It was nice to have a little walk to the beach each day, but definitely not too far for several small children to walk or ride in strollers. We also made use of the beach cart in the garage. It was great for carrying our beach gear as well as toddlers to the beach each morning!

"Just Another Day in Paradise"

The sign that hung on the deck of our beautiful Captiva vacation home read "Just Another Day in Paradise" and that is exactly what it was for us everyday of our week long stay at the beach house. Absolutely wonderful!!! Our family reunion was a success and old and young enjoyed each perfect sunset at the end of each perfect summer day. We all hope to be there again next summer, God willing.

The home was wonderfully clean, delightfully appointed and exceptionally comfortable. We had abundant room to relax and enjoy our time. The island is beautiful and quite enjoyable. One in our party has a medical condition needing to be seen in Ft Myers and the charter company, Island Girl was exceptional in meeting our needs to make the crossing from the island to mainland.
