Fabulous Captiva Island rental, ideal Southwest Florida Gulf location! Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and lush vegetation views at this pristine two bedroom, two and one half bath private home, located equal distance (75 feet) between beach and pool. Walk and shell the entire 4 mile length of Captiva Island. Take a short stroll to some of Captiva's favorite boutiques, play a game of tennis, or enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the great restaurants on the island.

Area Information

With lush tropical vegetation, cooled by gentle sea breezes, Sanibel and Captiva Islands are located in the Gulf of Mexico, over the causeway from Fort Myers, Florida. One of the most popular destinations on Captiva Island, Sunset Captiva is a private ocean front community of 59 free-standing homes. The Gulf Beach is clean and sandy with lots of shells. Sunset Captiva features a large heated community swimming pool, boat dock, tennis courts, and BBQ grills. Everything in the Village of Captiva is an easy walk from our home: shops, restaurants, marina, library, and historic Chapel by the Sea.

The 18 square mile area of Sanibel and Captiva is considered among the best birding locations: 291 confirmed species observed, or 30% of all species in N. America. The diversity and biology of the land and sea animals is beautiful, fascinating, and educational for people of all ages. Plant species number 1,200 indigenous, and imports and exotics increase the total to 2,500. Sanibel and Captiva host several museums and eco-attractions within an easy bike ride.

A Little Bit of Paradise

Sunset Captiva #10 was a wonderful home in which to spend a family vacation. We enjoyed the amenities offered by the Sunset Captiva community and its closeness to the beach. Everything we needed, except groceries - we bought those before coming onto the islands - during our stay was close by. Sunset Captiva was very comfortable for my family of four which included two young men ages 16 and 21. I would recommend this vacation rental and hope to return there in the future. #10 was a great value!!
