Perfect Getaway

I'm so glad I found this cabin in my search. I wasn't familiar with that part of Maine so I was overwhelmed with choices but after reading the reviews for this cabin, I was sold. The cabin was even better than I expected and the information on the area that I was sent was a HUGE help. There are many attractions close by but the cabin is off the main road and surrounded by trees so I truly felt like I was away from it all. We loved just sitting on the porch to read or play games. We went to Moxie Falls as suggested and it was beautiful and peaceful and not too long of a hike from the parking area. We also enjoyed the lake, which was within walking distance. We will definitely be back to rent this cabin again.

Excellent vacation!

My husband and I were at Bunny's camp Monday through Friday. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed! There's a huge supply of DVDs and videos but we had brought a Netflix or two. Lots of games as well and we got caught up with Mancala. I had brought my spinning wheel so I spun some fiber and ended up making a nice 4th of July skein! We did not see moose but heard loons. We had a few outings: Moxie Falls, Pleasant Pond trail, and the River Trail which begins in Bingham. The screened in porch is perfect: large enough for any number of folks. Always cool in the protection of the woods. And we were glad to have brought our Explorer for the sharp drive up!

memories for a lifetime

First let me say Bunny is probably the BEST host I have ever experienced. My wife Jessica, 16 y/o son Tyler and 10 y/o son Jordan and I stayed for five days. It was where we chose to make some long lasting family memories. And boy did we! We arrived at the cabin that Bunny made sure was ready for us and we were not disappointed at all. It was better than we imagined and we had great expectations. The cabin and surrounding land provide a peaceful retreat from the crazyness of everyday life. From the birdsongs of the morning/day to the nightsounds were captivating to say the least. The screened in porch is unparalleled and we spent much of our time there from playing board games (like monopoly, scrabble, etc in the evening) to painting/art projects. We went in search of moose early in the morning and saw one less than 1/2 mile from the cabin. Also approx 20 minutes away north (near the Forks), we did the hike to Moxie Falls and it was truly worth the effort. A little further up 201 from the Forks towards Jackman, was a scenic overlook that took our breath away. I have been to 42 of the 50 states and not sure I can ever remember anything so beautiful. Bottom line, if you are looking to 'get away from it all' for a little while or to make long-lasting family memories, I can't say enough how wonderful this place is or how incredible a host Bunny is to make this the place to go. I will definitely be back another day (or week!).

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

My friend and I stayed in this lovely cabin in the week of May. It was a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives! The second I finished my last final of the semester we drove on up! It was the most relaxing week I have had in a long time. The cabin is very warm and comfortable and feels like home. There was plenty of space and we had a great time sitting on the huge porch, lighting fires, taking hikes (especially to Moxie Falls), and enjoying the lake which is a 5 minute walk down the road. There are many very small surrounding towns which were fun to explore! It was cool seeing that everyone there knew each other and were all very friendly. Thanks again for letting us stay in your great cabin Bunny!

Home away from home

Our family has been staying at Bunny's cabin for the last 5 years. We head to the Caratunk area to enjoy activities such as whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, and general relaxation. We love the cozy wilderness setting coupled with the well planned layout of the cabin. Whenever we first pass through the threshhold of "camp" (as we have come to call it), we all look at each other and smile because we know we are home. Bunny is very accommodating and it shows by just how clean, tidy, and stocked she keeps her cabin. I would highly recommend this Northern Maine gem to anyone wishing to escape to a place where the nightly activities include- gazing at an amazing view of the Milky Way while listening to the far off cry of a loon.

wonderful escape

Had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful, charming and cozy cabin for a weekend. Bunny has made this a treasure with providing all the amenities you could ask for. Clean, comfortable, and cozy with well stocked kitchen, bath, and living space for a few days, a week, or how long you can enjoy. The fireplace provides a warm atmosphere for those chilly Maine mornings or evenings. The out door firepit is wonderful for those evenings outside enjoying the night time sounds of nature. Peaceful porch area provides a place to enjoy that book, craft or a blanket to just sit and relax. This is a 5 star escape into the Maine woods with access to adventures near by. Hiking , fishing, swimming, dining, whitewater rafting all within distance. Its a wonderful and delightful stay at this Caratunk Cabin. You wont be disappointed.

Amazing vacation - just what we needed!

Ingredients for a wonderful summer vacation: Take 2 adults, 4 kids, and the family dog and combine them with Bunny's cabin in Caratunk! Results are glorious relaxation, giggles, and great fun! We had a wonderful time; picked blackberries, saw a moose, jumped off the town dock (including the dog), went to Moxie Falls, played board and card games, toasted marshmallows and made fairy houses. We live in Maine so we already get to enjoy its beauty everyday but this was our escape from the internet-cell phone-busy lifestyle we were stuck in and it was exactly what we needed to reconnect as a family! If you have no kids this would also work wonderfully for a romantic get-away, quiet and cozy! Despite the steep driveway and the couple days of rain (neither of which was horrible) we had the most delightful time. Bunny is a true treasure and so is her cabin! And we would definitely recommend her to everyone we know looking for a well needed escape!

We recently stayed in this log cabin for four nights. What a beautiful and peaceful place to vacation. The weather was perfect so we didn't spend too much time inside. There was a gorgeous screened in porch that was perfect for family game night. Kids enjoyed jumping off the dock into the lake. We will definitely be back next year. I have stayed in this cabin for years and have relished each moment of being there..have been there in all seasons...I LOVE to go down to the river and swim...once we saw an eagle swoop down behind us and caught a fish out of the river, flew away with it in its mouth with river grass hanging off the fish....how exquisite is that..I love the evenings on the screened in porch...the loons serenade beautifully..it feels like stepping back in time going to Caratunk and it gives you permission to truly kick back and replenish your soul..Linda from Farmingdale, Maine

If you are looking for the perfect space to escape to, this is it!! We were able to just stop! The front porch is so relaxing and accommodating. It is a wonderful place to read and listen to the loons near by. Thanks so much for sharing this piece of heaven with us!! We will definitely be back!!!
