Wilmington is very similar to Charleston and Savannah. It has riverfront walk, with tours of homes, the big US North Carolina Battleship sits right across the river from downtown Wimington and has daily tours. Horse drawn carriages and trolley's give you tours of all the many 100 year old homes in downtown and guides give you great talks on all the history behind the homes. Many restaurants, pubs,antique, jewelry stores etc. are available downtown.
