Drive 10 minutes either direction up the coast to Santa Barbara or down the coast to Ventura and explore the unlimited shops and restaurants that each has to offer. Continue another thirty minutes up from Santa Barbara to the Santa Ynez Valley and take a �Sideways� wine tour or try your luck at the Chumash Casino.

Los Angeles and Santa Monica are just over an hour away where you can enjoy the Getty Center, Disney Concert Hall, MOCA, Hollywood Bowl, Staples Center, Universal Studios and City Walk or the Third Street Promenade.

Carpinteria State Beach offers a mile of beach for swimming, surf fishing and tide pool exploring. Seals, sea lions and an occasional gray whale can be seen in the area December through May. Tide pools contain sea stars, crabs, snails, octopi and sea urchins.
