Our mountain vacation cabin is in a gated resort community. Talking Rock/Cedar Ridge is located in a secluded and peaceful mountainside, beautifully designed and impeccably furnished. This vacation rental has all the comforts of home plus peace, quiet and natural beauty surrounding you. Mountain cabin resort is a warm and cozy three-bedrooom, three-bath cabin with lots of charm. This cabin was decorated with your comfort in mind. There's a full kitchen, dining area, 2 queen-sized bed, 1 trundle bed with a full size & twin. The perfect escape for a couple or family. To add adventure to your getaway, you'll be just a short drive from whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, mountain biking or antique shopping. The towns of Ellijay, Cherry Log, and Blue Ridge are just a short drive from your mountain cabin. The best part-at the end of the day, you'll have our comfortable and luxurious cabin to come home to.

Area Information

Talking Rock Creek Properties is near the south shores of Carters Lake. Amenities include a Recreational Center that contains tennis and basketball courts, a playground, a workout room and large pond for picnicking and several hiking trails. A brand new Trout Lodge offers trout fishing, parties and picnics plus a new clubhouse and new pool facility. Guests have free access to all resort amenities.
Carters Lake Area
Adjacent to beautiful Carters Lake, just 20 minutes from Ellijay, Georgia. Carters Lake is the deepest man-made lake east of the Mississippi river; it is just across the street from Talking Rock Creek Properties and provides all sorts of lake fun such as fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, boating, picnic areas and more. Be sure to visit the impressive Corps of Engineers Dam.
We are conveniently located just over one hour 's drive from Atlanta, Georgia and just 20 minutes from downtown Ellijay, Georgia.
Ellijay is the apple capital of Georgia and the gateway to the Appalachian Mountains. Ellijay has many restaurants, shopping, art festivals, apple orchards, antique shopping, a movie theater, sports bars, a Super Wal-Mart, the largest in the South East, and many other modern conveniences.
Also near Ellijay are countless opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, sightseeing, biking, trout fishing, camping, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, and so much more.
Within a 45 minute of the resort you have access to many popular north Georgia mountain destinations such as Fort Mountain State Park, Amicalola Falls State Park, Blue Ridge, the Appalachian Trail, 3 large golf courses, and much much more.

So Much Fun

September 2, 2012

**(Adding this at the beginning in case you don't make it all the way to the end of this LOOONG review>) Make sure to get a map from the office and use the Apple Road entrance when you can! It is much quicker to get out and much less hilly! But going out the main entrance you will see some of the most breathtaking views!** Plenty of room for 8 people (3 adults and 5 kids) to spread out. Plenty of space for sleeping, a little tight for eating. The kids LOVED to play downstairs on the pool table and we brought our Wii. Since there are no close neighbors, they could be as loud as they wanted and the adults weren't worried that they'd bother anyone! Plenty of things to do within an hour driving! We spend 3 weeks here and never ran out of fun things to do! Carter's Lake has a wonderful beach area. Quite a few places to learn about the indians that used to live here and the start of the Trail of Tears. The Tellus Science Museum was so much fun! We even went as far as Chattanooga, TN and up to Lookout Mountain! This cabin has a big enough kitchen and updated appliances to cook and serve for 8 easily. 3 bathrooms was VERY helpful! Two pools and tennis courts on site (though it was a bit of a hilly drive for people from Florida)! We quickly realized that it is essential to use lower gears when going down! SAVE your brakes! The TV didn't get too many channels, but there are plenty of movies on site. And we brought a bunch of our own games, but there were a few of those there also. When we were there, it was the only cabin on the street. That means that there are LOTS of trees around. Therefore, not much of a view from this cabin. But as your drive you will see plenty of spectacular views. And maybe as more cabins are added to the street, there will be a few less trees in the way. DId wake one morning to see a deer on the other side of the street! NEATO! And saw a bunch as we drove through the complex. And, just wish it had been cooler! Working with the owners was more than easy! Thank you!

We listen to each and every one of our guests to enhance and improve our cabin as we go along. It is because of you our guest that makes this cabin a lovely place to stay. I also, appreciate that you mentioned Apple Road to our guests as an additional avenue. There are 3 entrances and exits to our community, but Apple Road's gate is definitely closer to the cabin. We like to inform you that we currently purchased the top of the line stainless steel dishwasher to replace the one that was there before.

Great Graduation Week Getaway

I so loved this house! It was perfect for our family to stay in while we were in GA for our daughter's graduation. The house is fabulous and very well kept. We loved that everyone has their own bathrooms in their rooms. We used the grill and the kitchen for cooking and felt very at home. The A/C quit working and within hours the repair technician was there and had it fixed. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet, private getaway spot. It was perfect!

Relaxing and Peaceful

The game room was excellent! We have 3 teenagers who enjoyed playing pool. The rooms were comfortable, the view was beautiful at sunrise. We were the only house on the cul-de-sac so it was extremely quiet. We saw 4 deer from our front porch in the morning. We grilled, cooked, played games and enjoyed our time. The only thing that I'd add is that the kitchen could have had a mixer, mixing bowl and cooking sheet but we improvised with what was available onsite.

This cabin offers everything the owner lists and more! I will never stay in another hotel again. I cannot say enough how pleased we were with the cabin...the price, the entertainment room, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the owners (and how promptly e-mails were returned) and the manner in which the owners made us feel welcome at the cabin. My wife and I both felt warm and cozy sitting by the fireplace; it is truly very romantic, extremely relaxing and stress free right down to the deer that came to visit us one morning by the patio deck. The town has everything you could possibly need while there. It's just a great place to visit. There will definitely be a next time and I would recommend it to everyone.
