 Wow!!!, October 26, 2009
By Patrick (Islip, NY)
As a family of five, we have enjoyed the Catskills for summer and winter vacations every year since 1999. By far #42574 has been our favorite experience of any season. The cabin is gorgeous, well maintained, with spectacular views and unsurpassed peace/solitude. The property easy to find and only 10 minutes from a nice medium sized town. While we enjoyed the nearby horseback riding, golf and nature hikes - we mostly enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin – spending most of our time on the oversized deck which overlooks a valley with views that go back maybe 50 miles – simply breathtaking! We relaxed, played games, read, cooked, walked the adjoining woods and told stories around the camp fire. We will never forget the mornings on the deck sharing coffee as the children slept, with the valley below filled with clouds - it was like waking up in heaven! Although we never met the family, we had pleasant dealings with them - which only added to the easy-going hassle-free experience. In short, #42574 is as close to the perfect getaway cabin you're likely to find!

Foliage lovers rejoice, October 14, 2009
By Jessica Mission (Brooklyn, NY)
We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. They've done a lot of work on the place, and the porch, furniture and decorating are great. Owner is friendly. But most of all, you just can't beat the views--they made it worth every penny. You are in the middle of nowhere overlooking a few farms across the valley. Just completely idyllic, and the perfect escape for us country kids living in NYC. There were a few things that could have been better, but weren't enough to make for a bad experience: the appliances were old, so the fridge was noisy and the microwave didn't have enough chutzpah to pop the popcorn. There is no cable or DVDs, just some local TV stations, so we went into town and bought some DVDs. Also, this cabin is NOT in Catskill, NY. It's in S. Kortright, which is IN the Catskills. This made for a longer drive than we were planning. Make sure to get very specific directions from the owner--Google maps couldn't even get us off the main highway correctly, and then the cabin is really tucked away and it's easy to get turned around up there.

Great Cabin, Great Location!!!, September 25, 2009
By David Casey (Falls, PA)
The cabin itself was beautiful, as well as the surrounding property. We took advantage of everything the place had to offer, from taking a hike, enjoying lunch and dinner on the deck, building a beautiful bon fire in the outdoor pit, to enjoying the indoors fireplace at night. The weather was perfect to enjoy everything. Early in the morning the fog filled the valley below and you could see this for miles and miles we were above the fog. Be sure to get good directions as this could be a little confusing. Overall I would and may stay there again next year.

Romance, Seclusion, Beauty, September 15, 2009
By Eric Delage (Red Hook, NY USA)
As soon as we arrived at the cabin, it felt like we were on top of the world. The beauty of the Catskills are beyond description. Veronica was extremely accomodating and helpful. The decor was slightly out-dated, but everything else made up for it ten fold. I would definitely reccommend it to anyone looking for a romantic get-away. Be sure to check out the art gallery in Stamford!
