Description of the Cayucos vacation home rental
The Ranch house has it all. 8 bedroom, 6 baths, lofts and game room. Decks rap and ramble all around it, taking in the views of the private valley and the surrounding hillsides.
Comfort is what is all about. Big groups or small you won't want to leave. Fully equipped kitchen with a 5 burner gas cook top and extra large double electric ovens. Fabulous linens and towels provided for that perfect sleep. Out door Oak Bbq(wood included) for the best bbqing you will ever do.
Hens willing, there will be fresh eggs in the refrigerator. Freshly picked lemons, limes, avocados and oranges (if they are still hanging on the trees) will be in the fruit bowl. Fresh herbs out the kitchen door.
And if your timing is right vegetables in the garden.
There is also a fabulous hand crafted fire pit to gather around under the stars ...and have s'mores or just visit.
You will be amazed at the bird watching whether from the decks or the ridge top. Golden Eagles nest above the house.
It is a beautiful 1 mile walk to the fishing pond where the kayaks will be waiting for you.
Family and friend gatherings and retreats of all kinds seem to be our niche. Just over the hill is premier wine tasting. Just down the road beautiful Estero Bay, up the coast Hearst Castle and further on Big Sur.
The ranch has been open to guests since 1999. We are honored to have wonderful return guests who have made Cottontail Creek Ranch their yearly tradition.
Our 2012 rates (subject to change) based on a 10 guest visit are as follows:

We had our ladies retreat here. It was absolutely indescribable. The Lyons are the ultimate host and hostess leaving eggs, oranges, avocados, fresh vegetables, fresh flowers in each room, and giving us a tour of the ranch. We hope to return; we did not have enough time to explore all the property had to offer. Definitely a place we want to return to again and again.

Seven couples held a Tuscan cooking school reunion at the Ranch and the facilities were just great. We cooked for three days and wine tasted at several close by outstanding wineries such as Villa Creek, Denner, RN Estate, McPrice Myers, Clayhouse and Turley. Susan was so helpful and even joined us for one of our Tuscan dinners. We even had a Bocce Ball tournament. All seven couples loved the luxury accommodations. We would do it again at the Ranch anytime.

Stunning weekend at Cottontail Creek Ranch
Stay in October 2010
We took 6 adults and 8 kids to Cottontail Creek and had a wonderful family vacation. The location of the property is simply stunning with magical views across the valley and to the hills beyond. We loved the magnificent kitchen and dining area, the large pool was perfect for kids and adults,and the firepit was superb for smores. Picking oranges and making fresh juice was a highlight but the kids favorite was the truck ride with Susan and Roger ending with a ride on Pumpkin the nanny of the herd. Susan and Roger are perfect hosts and have created a memorable treat for all to enjoy. We'll be back !

Amazing Multi-Family Vacation

Cottontail Creek Ranch was the perfect spot to enjoy quality time in the beautiful outdoors with our friends and family. Six adults, two teenagers, and nine children easily and harmoniously fit into the spacious ranch house. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, surfing -- even ping pong! Highlights of our stay included making fresh squeezed orange juice every morning, and having smores around our own campfire every night after dinner.

When my bear family and I arrived at the Cottontail Creek Ranch, we instantly felt at home! This luxury ranch retreat is nestled among some of California's most breathtaking rolling hills. The location beckons you to enjoy the outdoors and everything the Central Coast has to offer. Whether you like to hike, fish, horseback ride, surf, or just simply hang out and enjoy some of the most awe inspiring views this home has to offer, this is the place for you! Our gracious hosts, Roger and Susan, made our arrival special in so many ways. From the beautiful fresh cut flowers in every bedroom to the delicious fresh fruit picked right from the ranch orchards to the awesome homemade cookies, no detail was overlooked. They took us on a tour of their 850 acre working ranch and we marveled at the incredible view overlooking the Estero Bay. The fresh air carried the fabulous scent of their orange orchards and flowers blossoming throughout the property. Plus, we were free to eat anything that was ripe and ready for picking on the grounds. We enjoyed lemons, oranges, avocados and fresh herbs. It was simply amazing! The fabulous surroundings, wide open spaces and views truly recharged our spirits. The home itself rivaled the ranch's outside surroundings. From the historical Monterey pine floors to the custom woodwork, this home really showcased the owners' personality and artistic flair. Susan's whimsical artwork and Roger's intricate woodwork throughout the home exuded warmth. They truly put their hearts and hands into making sure that we felt right at home. Cottontail Creek Ranch featured 5 luxurious bedrooms, each with their own personal baths. Everyone had their own personal space to retreat to and relax. The home's floor plan was perfect for togetherness and included great family gathering spots like a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, spacious dining room as well as the large living room with its massive rock fireplace. Every room had an incredible view to enjoy. We spent evenings around the great fire pit or soaking in the steaming spa reminiscing about the day's adventures. It was the perfect home for a reunion or celebration! If you must venture away from this private paradise, Cottontail Creek Ranch is in close proximity to the vineyards of Paso Robles, fabulous seafood in Morro Bay, and the quaint coastal town of Cayucos. It's also a convenient home base to launch an excursion up the coast to visit Hearst Castle or explore the craggy coast of Big Sur. We have not stopped talking about our visit to the California Central Coast and the Cottontail Creek Ranch.
