Description of the Charlestown vacation cottage rental

We have a very unique 'SEASIDE" cottage, sitting on the sand dunes,just steps from your own private, sandy, beach ON THE OCEAN! Wake up, and go to sleep with the sound of the surf, and the ocean breezes. You have your choice of two bedrooms with one bath, 4 bedrooms with two baths, or 6 bedrooms with three baths. The cottage is set up to accomodate a small party of four, or can extend to the full cottage and accomodate a party of 12. Pack up you linens for bed, bath and beach, and get ready for your best SEASIDE vacation ever!
The four guests price is $2,595.00 per week, 6-8 guests is $4,295.00 and 10- 12 guests is $6690.00. The cottage is fully set up for your pleasure, with beds having puffs and pillows, kitchen fully equipped, chairs and lounge on oceanfront decks, tables with umbrellas, grills on patio, outside hot and cold shower for summer showers, and tons of ocean views and sounds to enjoy from every area in the cottage. Most bedrooms have a view of the ocean from the bed! The cottage is sitting on four lots, right on the ocean, facing out to Block Island. We are on the ocean..and there is no town water, so at times it is salty....thus we provide Poland Springs dispensers for ice, coffee, drinks etc. You may launch your boat across the street, walk to a little food shack, or bring your bikes and explore the many little sandy roads that bring you to the salty inlets. There are also boat rentals across the street, so you can explore the many water inlets, or go out of the breachway into the ocean. Restaurants, fruit and veggie stands, deli,bakery...all just up the street. Fishing at your front door! The cottage will be awaiting your arrival....so call for more pictures or details.

Area Information

You will find Charlestown a very quaint and special place. A place you will want to return to, again and again. There are so many "villages" to explore (Wickford, Watch Hill, Narragansett, Galilee, Jerusalem, Newport...or a trip to Block Island).There are parks, ponds, and acres to explore, that have been set aside for your enjoyment. I feel the best place of all, is at your doorstep. Aqua water, with white foam, sugar sand beaches and beautiful surf...just a few steps over the dunes. There are area parks,restaurants,
National Wildlife Refuge, golf, tennis, playgrounds, water parks..etc. You can swim, play, build sand castles, boogie board etc out front in the ocean, or go just a few minutes away and enjoy lakes or salt water inlets with crystal clear water on quiet sandy beaches. There are water parks, animal parks, miniture golf, and many other activities to enjoy, and all very close...as you are in Rhode Island!lol

Ninegret State Park is just a few minutes away, with a new playground, picnic areas, hiking paths and salt water inlets with aqua water on white sandy shores. A great area for little ones to frolic and play in the water. Acres and acres of land to explore....if you can drag yourself away from your own seaside treasure! If you love the ocean..this is the place! Sit on your deck and watch the sun rise and set! Fish in the ocean, rent a kayak down the street and take some late afternoon "tours" in Charlestown Pond. It is very quiet and beautiful. Something for all ages. Our cottage is set up to accomodate many or just a few. Call for details.

A Thanksgiving Gathering

November 27, 2012

All I can say is awesome! What a wonderful home Lorna has and she welcomed us with opened arms. My family have rented homes throughout the country and never felt so welcomed. Upon entering the home, there was a strong smell of fresh flowers, sign welcoming our family, cookie tray & salt water taffy. What a woman!!! Then, the VIEW, unbelievable! The sight & smell, very hard to put into words. Though we had a very unseasonable week in November ( I told my older sister, we could have been shoveling her off) everything was perfect. It was so nice to have the total house for the 13 of us, 3 baths, 6 BRs, but if I was on a girly, weekend get-away, the 2BR apartment would have been perfect. And the deck...sitting out at sunrise, mid-morning, mid-afternoon and early evening, was the best!!! Just loved the place...fully equiped kitchen (maybe too much) but my nephews loved it. It was fabulous having each one taking turns with their creations. All I can say, I am very lucky I stumbled upon Lorna's property and to spend a wonderful, well needed time with family that I don't see. Oh, did I mention, she put a sign on the best BR of the house. My husband & I woke up to the sunrise on the left & another beautiful window view in front of us. The first night I thought to myself, will someone turn off those waves...but then I did like the sign said... RELAX...can't wait to go back!!! THANK YOU

I am soooo happy that your Thanksgiving Reunion was a success. You add a little ocean to any experience and it just gets better and better. You are correct about that deck...it is a little slice of heaven with the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze! LOVE IT! It makes me very happy when I see that my guests enjoy SEASIDE as much as we do. The dunes took a bit of a hit from hurricane SANDY, but I am in the process of having additional sand brought in and am planting dune grass and putting up dune fence to catch the winter and spring blowing sand. Hopefully in a few years, we will have the dune back to the original. There is a wonderful large log, that was a present from Sandy, that now outlines the beach walk way over the dune. It will be the best for photographs with everyone lined up! Can't wait to get my little ones on it!

Great getaway!

We had a wonderful stay in the guest cottage. It had everything we needed and the view from the deck is fantastic! There is so much to do nearby. We had a great experience and Lorna went above and beyond to accomodate us. Thank you! We will be back!!!

PERFECT!

This was the most perfect house we could ask for last weekend! The upstairs rooms were the such a delight, it was so nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. We spent a good deal of time on the beach and on the large deck of this house. The beach has clean, clear water and the sand is white, not rocky! September is a great time to go for adults too, the beach was not crowded but weather was still very warm! Overall a great experience!!
