The Villa stands watch over a secluded cove on the shores of Lake Wylie. Relax on the veranda to watch recreation watercraft pass by, identify waterfowl and maybe even catch a peaceful glimpse of a deer. Large picture windows with floor to ceiling views bring the magnificence of the outdoors right into the spacious gathering room to enjoy a fireplace and panoramic vistas sunrise and sunset.

This is a beautiful lakeside home a very short drive from the Charlotte Douglas Airport and downtown Charlotte. The proprietor (Melanie) was wonderful to work with. She exemplified southern hospitality to me and my group of friends from the Midwest.

The home is very elegantly decorated and quite comfortable. There was lake access and a canoe and paddle boat at our disposal. One room had a built in projector and we enjoyed a movie projected onto the wall with surround sound.

We had some issues with the air conditioning but when we phoned Melanie, she sent out a technician the same day and the issue was resolved and we were nice and cool again. Great customer service!

The site has photos of the house but you really have to see it for yourself to appreciate how nice it is. It's tucked away on a back road but amazingly came right up on our GPS.

If you are planning a stay in the Charlotte area, you can stay here for a very reasonable rate. You won't regret your choice.

When you stay at Waters Edge many entertainment choices are only minutes away: US National Whitewater Center, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, The Billy Graham Library, Nascar-Lowes Motor Speedway, Carowinds Theme Park, Blumenthal Performing Arts Theater, Mint Museum of Craft & Design, NBA Charlotte Bobcats, NFL Carolina Panthers, many golf courses, malls, antique shops and fine dining. Yet the peaceful, serene environment at the Villa would never give a hint to the accessibility of so many places to see and things to do.

This is a very special place. Photographs do not do justice to the quality and size of the property. My family and I spent a wonderful few days and would like to keep this gem as our secret hideaway but it is only fair to let others in on such a fantastic property.

We rented the Villa on Lake Wylie the week of Christmas. Melanie was so thoughtful in decorating the house for the holidays. Melanie also baby-proofed the house for us since we have a toddler. The house was spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was wonderful. The lake views were lovely and the area fairly quiet. The location was fairly convenient to many local attractions. I would recommend this property to visitors seeking a home-like environment for an extended stay in the area.

The Villa on Lake Wylie is an excellent vacation spot to get away from the city, work, or just relax. The house is amazing and it is enhanced by the decor. Melanie was a pleasure to work with and went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasant. My only regret is that I can't keep this little treasure to myself.
