Description of the Chatham vacation home rental

This charming Cape Cod style cottage is a delight! It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home (one large new one) on a large lot with much privacy. It has A/C, hi-speed wireless internet,a new wide-screen HD TV, new carpeting throughout the house, is on a no-outlet street so it is safe for children and is just a stone's throw from lovely conservation land at the end of the street. Pets are also considered with the approval of the landlords. The home is a short distance from beautiful Cockle Cove Beach and you pass Taylor's Pond and fascinating marsh lands on the walk to the beach. If you prefer to drive and park at the beach, there is ample parking as well. The house is well-equipped with a stack washer/dryer in the kitchen area, a dishwasher, microwave, cable TV, DVD and CD players, and there is a lovely fireplace in the living room for the occasional cool summer evening by the fire. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom has twin beds, and there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. This is a cozy, quaint Cape Cod home that you will remember for many years to come if you choose it as your vacation home this year.

Area Information

Chatham was selected last year as one of the 10 best Distinctive Historical Heritage Areas to visit in the US and as a result interest in the area has greatly increased. The area has lovely warm water swimming beaches and is close to good surfing beaches on the outer Cape as well, wonderful restaurants, museums, bike trails, hiking trails in the National Seashore area which is just a short distance away, antique shops, quaint stores on the main street of town, deep sea fishing trips, trips to see the seals on the nearby islands, a weekly band concert in the park, summer theater at the Monomoy Theater, the Cape Playhouse and the Melody Tent in Hyannis (20 minutes away), and the best fish and lobster you have ever eaten! It is also an easy drive to Provincetown and an hour and a half from historic Boston. This is an area that is not to be missed!

Great Vacation

July 29, 2012

My family really enjoyed staying in this very comfortable and pleasant cottage. The location was wonderful, on a quiet lane, within walking distance to the beach (10 minutes). Stores and restaurants were within a short drive away. The air condtiioning was a big plus, since we experienced several very hot and muggy days. There was also a nice sized yard. Best of all, we were allowed to bring our dog, which was especially wonderful for us and the owners were very friendly and accommodating.

The Perry's Cottage at Chatam

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in the Perry's cottage in Chatam. We enjoyed the stay for the week, particularly the nature surroundings of the cottage. It's a very calm, peaceful, quiet, relaxing and surreal cottage with a country theme. We were in heaven being away from the city and spending time within nature and within a cottage that was extremely welcoming. 8/1/09-8/15/09 We had an amazing two weeks here. Everything was so nice! We are from Durham, CT and we were searching for a place to stay in Cape Cod and found you online. We made a great choice! There are several nice beaches close by and we were lucky enough to have nice weather most of the time. 7/25-8/1/09 Our time at Cranberry Way was lovely. Just the right size for the three of us; quiet and somewhat secluded. We joked that this was part beach vacation and part Adirondeck vacation, nestled here in the pines as we are. Weather was great - good combination of sun and clouds and mostly dry. Humidity high, but that's perfect at the beach. We spent lots of time on Cockle Cove Beach but did venture north to Coast Guard Beach one day. Big difference - beautiful. Had a terrific afternoon at Woods Hole. But our big adventure was a day in Boston. Took the P-town fast ferry over for a Red Sox game!...So we had a great week and wish we could stay for another. Taking home about 20 lbs. of beach rocks (can't resist them), lots of sand, and hopes that we will return some day soon. Thanks for the hospitality. The K's, Rochester, NY

9/14-9/21 Fifteenth wedding anniversary for us. Returned to Orleans where we became engaged; checked out all old haunts in Chatham from back-in-that-day; and hardly took notice of "Black Monday" (9/15) on Wall Street - although we'll no doubt pay for it later. But what a lovely cottage! And how can you beat September swimming in Nantucket Sound? Marion's Pie Shop increased our girth! New England weather required A/C yesterday and heat today! Suddenly it's mid-autumn after arriving in late summer. Best Fish N'Chips and Lobsters ever from Nickerson's and where did "Vinings" come from? What a great restaurant.
