Wonderful Cabin

“ Excellent ”
September 3, 2014
We invited three of our children and their four kids to spend a family weekend in the Castlerock "cabin". This is NOT a cabin. This is a wonderful vacation home. Great floor plan for entertaining...plenty of room for the 12 of us...and a hot tub at the end of the day! We had a wonderful time and plan to rent it again!

early family Christmas

“ Excellent ”
December 16, 2014
Our family had a wonderful get together at the Shawnee cabin. It was already decorated for Christmas. The kids enjoyed fishing in the river. They enjoyed the hot tub. And at night we build bonfires and sang around the fire. The cabin is roomy and has been updated for the most part.

Loved Big Daddy's Cabin!

“ Excellent ”
December 10, 2014
My husband and I recently hosted our three sons and their families for an early Christmas get together...the cabin was perfect! Each family group had their own space, the loving dining was more than adequate for our entire family, the kitchen was nicely appointed w/ equipment etc., and the porch was awesome. The proximity to Chattanooga was great since we had an extended family wedding to attend there. We went to Cloudland Canyon Park and hiked to one of the waterfalls which was great fun. Each of our adult kids made a point to tell us what a great cabin it was to host a family vacation.

Relaxing

“ Excellent ”
May 30, 2013
We enjoyed staying in the country a little bit away from it all! We drove into Hixson for dinner and Chattanooga for the activities. But at the end of the day, it was so nice to return back and relax. The place is very clean and decorated beautifully. It was perfect for us...Family of 3 and mother-in-law, oh yeah and our Jack-Russell terrier. I recommend this place!

beautiful and great location

“ Excellent ”
July 29, 2014
Escaped to Chattanooga for a 3 day get away with my boyfriend. The cabin was really nice and beer clean. It really is just a short ten minute drive to the tourist area of Chattanooga. We loved being right on the water and very secluded. A few things we weren't 100% happy with 1) there are two other very large cabins on the property. The first night we were the only ones and it was perfect. The second night a family of 12 moved in next door and it got a wee less quiet and romantic. 2) while they do provide dishes, towels and linens. There is no soap. No hand soap in the bathroom. Nothing in the kitchen to wash dishes with. If we'd known, we'd brought it with us. But since we didn't, we ended up having to make a Wal-Mart run late the first night. 3) the "on deck" hot tub is actually tucked on the side of the cabin down a flight of stairs and in a little hole. it's good for 2 people and clean, but You can't see the water from it and it's kind of claustrophobic down there. 4) finally, we were really turned off by the number and tone of rules and reminders posted around the cabin. A simple check out list and rule list is one thing. But it felt like everywhere you turned there was another rule posted and perhaps the owner thought they're tone was funny, but it just came across rude and snarky. Things like "if you choose not to wash the towels before you leave, you better leave $100 on the table".... really? $100? Well, with that said, we would actually go back here as the price is very good for what you get.
