Description of the Chester vacation home rental
Charming Antique Colonial/Farmhouse with 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths, two living rooms, huge dining room. Also has a great covered outdoor space (see pics, it's hard to describe), a two-acre field, frontage on the middle branch Williams River, large hay barn, covered two-car parking (and plenty of parking besides). This house was built between 1800 and 1805, it is NOT modernized (we like it this way!), but is very cozy and well-equipped. The two living rooms each have very well-built fireplaces; wood is included.

We supply all sheets, towels, and everything you'll need in the kitchen.

We have flat screen TV, cable, wireless, and a great old-fashioned game table. (We also have a collection of games that are pre-plastic. :)

The house is available now. We rent all times of year.

We have a two-night minimum but much prefer to rent by the week or month. A security deposit and cleaning fee are required. Vermont tax is 9%. We do permit pets but there is an additional cleaning fee, and no more than two pets at a time are permitted.
Area Information
We walking distance to the town of Chester, which was once used for the filming of a Hallmark Christmas special.

For skiiers, Magic Mountain and Okemo are under 14 miles away. Bromley, Stratton, Killington, Mt Snow, and Pico are all between 20 and 40 miles away. Grafton Pond Park is under 9 miles away and has snow tubing and great cross-country trails. We're within walking distance of the delightful town of Chester. There are cute shops, several terrific tavern-style restaurants with great food, a beautiful bakery, and, in Ludlow, the next town north (where Okemo is), there are tons more restaurants, including one of our very favorite restaurants anywhere, Downtown Grocery. We're walking distance to VTICA (Vermont Institute of Contemporary Art), which often has interesting events, and close to Stone House Antiques and several other antique shops. Also 7-1/2 miles to the (in)famous Vermont Country Store.

The house is on a well-traveled road and very easy to get to. We're a little over 2-1/2 hours from Boston, and a little under 4 hours from NY, ten miles off of route 91.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
We are walking distance to a charming town where there are shops, restaurants, galleries, etc., all very quaint and New Englandy. There is an activities area about a 1/4 mile away where the snowmobile trails cross and in the summer there is an outdoor pool, playground, and ball fields. The Middle Branch Williams River borders our property; depending on the time of year it is sometimes possible to canoe, kayak, or fish there, although most times of year it is just nice to look at. There are swimming holes not too far away that we can direct you to.
