Our family (5 adults) spent a week getting away from in all at Shady Pines cabin in mid-August. The cabin was comfortable and clean, with a very serviceable kitchen, laundry facilities, fireplace, and cute front porch (complete with Adirondack chairs). While there was a TV with cable, we were unable to use our cell phones reliably, and had to go to the nearest town to check e-mails. We went hiking most days we were vacationing, and went sightseeing and swimming. There was plenty to do, and the proprieter had left maps and guides for a number of the local activities. I would suggest to other vacationers to steer clear of Loon Lake. One of our number picked up a nasty skin infection the locals call Duck Itch Rash from swimming in the public "beach" on the Lake. The place should have been closed for swimming! It was a pleasure to get away from the faster pace of city living and just breathe for a few days. All of us benefitted from that experience. We would all recommend the area and this cabin for a relaxing family vacation.

My husband and I stayed at Shady Pines cabin with our friends. We had a wonderful time! The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities that you would need. I would definitely stay there again and I have already recommended it to my friends.

clean spacious and comfortable.location is actually a plus.you are far from the crowds, but a short drive to all the area has to offer. the furnishings are tasteful.the front porch, with the chairs, makes for a great happy hour location. you can walk to the nearby restaurant...the food is fabulous. this place was better than expected.we loved it.

Our family used the cabin the first week of Aug., and did we ever enjoy it. It is a beautiful, clean, authentic log cabin with all the amenities, very quiet and peaceful. The stars at night are amazing. While we were staying we traveled over 300 miles just touring the Adirondacks on our Harley...great mountain roads and super friendly people! All told we visited; Lake George - ride the Lake George Steamboat, Lake Placid - check out Whiteface, Gore Mt. - ride the gondola up!,Fort Ticonderoga, Mt. Prospect, The Adironack Museum in Blue Mt.Lake, The Garnet Mine on Mt Gore and the Train Depot in No. Creek. We zipped through the trees at Adirondack Extreme Adventures. So much more... Our only regret is that we didn't stay for TWO weeks! We will be back.

This was a very nice cabin. Clean, cozy and had everything you would need. There were two couples in our group and there was plenty of room. Still had the bunk room we could of used. Not to far from Lake George and we had great scenic rides on our motorcycles in the mountains.
