Description of the Chicago vacation apartment rental

In Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, China Doll offers complete self-contained apartment suites with private entrances. Unlike a Bed & Breakfast, there are no shared facilities.

China Doll owns 3 buildings with a total of 6 apartments plus a large 3 bedroom 2 full bath 2 1/2 bath single family home all within a block of each other. We also act as agent for 12 other vacation apartment rentals in Chicago.

Designed as corporate apartments, the office area includes a computer with MS Office, wireless high-speed Internet access, scanner, black-and-white laser printer, photocopier, CD writer, and fax machine.

We also tend to your personal comfort. In the China Doll Original there are private two-person Jacuzzis and steam rooms (robes and slippers provided). Entertainment consisting of premium cable TV, DVD/VCR with a library of movies, stereo, and CD player can be enjoyed either in front of the fireplace or in bed. During nice weather enjoy the deck and private garden.

For breakfast, help yourself to the variety of coffees, teas, juices, muffins, bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cream cheese, and other fixings.

Other amenities include washer and dryer and built in ironing board.

Area Description

The neighborhood offers a broad range of restaurants, theaters, bars, and live music. Kingston Mines, Chicago Blue, Briar Street Theater, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and the beach are within walking distance.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

Designed as corporate apartments, the in unit office areas include a computer with MS Office, wireless high-speed Internet access, scanner, black and white laser printer, photocopier, CD writer, and fax machine. The garden unit conference room seats four and is equipped with an overhead projector and a wall-mounted television. Full color laser printing is available in our office. Office supplies are provided.

We also tend to your personal comfort. Each unit in the China Doll Original has a private two-person Jacuzzi and steam room (robes, slippers, and aromatherapy oils provided). Entertainment consisting of premium cable TV, VCR/DVD with a library of movies, stereo, and CD player can be enjoyed either in front of the fireplace or in bed (2nd floor has a fireplace in the bedroom). During nice weather enjoy the deck and private garden.

For breakfast, help yourself to the variety of coffees, teas, juices, muffins, bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cream cheese, and other fixings.
Other amenities include washer and dryer and built in ironing boards.

For your trips to the beach, Grant Park, or Ravina concerts, we provide chairs, wheeled cooler, umbrella, and towels.

Cribs, highchairs, step stools, and safety gates are provided. We also provide an assortment of toys, games, and childrens videos.

Vacation Rental Policies

Payment Options: Mastercard, Money Order, Personal Check, Visa
Check In: 3 p.m.
Check Out: 12 p.m.
Required Stay: 2 night minimum
Lodging Tax: 11.9%
Deposits: We require a valid Visa or MasterCard to guarantee your reservation. We will not charge your card until you arrive or fail to adhere to the cancellation policy. Lacking a credit card, we will accept a check for the deposit.
Other Fees: A two-night minimum stay is required. A four-night minimum is required on the weekends of Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, and the Chicago Marathon. All other holiday weekends require a three-night minimum stay. A one-time, $100 weekend premium is charged for stays that include a Friday or Saturday night; the weekend premium is waved for stays of 7 nights or more.

Christmas Reunion, December 29, 2007

We spent Christmas in Chicago this year to be with our daughter, a grad student. The coach house is one of many owned by the same couple, all within a block of each other. The house is three floors, beautifully outfitted and exceptionally well stocked. We would have loved to pack the spacious kitchen and it's granite counters and bring it home. The space is great for entertaining, large flat screen and all. The computer area was tucked away upstairs and very useful to those of us who feel the need to check email. There is a large deck which must be lovely in the summer so we may just have to try this house again.
