Description of the Chicago vacation apartment rental

This is an amazing rental at a great value. Don't be fooled by the low price, this unit is spectacular and every bit as nice as more expensive rentals. Please see the additional photos at the link below.

My normal year round daily rate is $150-$170 per night or $850 per week. From Memorial Day through Labor Day the daily rate ranges from $170-$225 per night and the weekly rate is $950-$1,050 per week.

The luxury features of the rental include: 6 person Luxury Hot Tub, Incredible Chicago skyline view from our Roof Deck, Huge Walk in Shower with Grohe Body Sprays and Steam Bath Generator.

The other basic amenities are: High speed internet and desktop PC for your use. Queen Beds. Original Pine Hardwood Floors. Cedar closets. Weber Stainless Gas Grill. Heated Marble Floor in Bathroom. Kohler bathroom fixtures.

The apartment is also stocked with many of the basic necessities that you will need during your stay such as coffee, tea, soap, shampoo, paper products, etc. I rent myself at least 2-3 times a year. There is nothing I hate more than having to run right out to a store for something that should be in the unit.

Transportation to downtown and the near north area of the city is simple. It is a 15-20 minute drive even in rush hour and there are trains, buses, and cabs readily available. We are located just south of downtown within a 15-20 minute drive to most of the major attractions in this city. We are very convenient to McCormick Place and the museums.

Ours is also a quiet residential neighborhood where you won't hear sirens or car horns all night like some parts of the city. You are not right in the middle of the action of the city, but you are very close to it and you get a great rate. It can easily cost double what I am charging for a rental this size on the North side of the city the same distance from downtown, and parking is non-existent up there. Parking can be tough, but not impossible when the Chicago White Sox are in town as we are located very close to the ball park. This is only a factor for 4-5 hours on the 80 days a year when they are in town. The rest of the time, parking is incredibly easy and you can usually park right in front of the rental. If this sounds good to you, email me or give me a call.

Area Description

This rental is located just South of Downtown Chicago in the very quiet and safe neighborhood of Bridgeport. It is an easy trip to downtown, the Museum Campus, and all of our city's attractions. Our Mayor Daley grew up 1/4 mile from us and lived here until just a few years ago when he moved to the south loop. Much of his family still lives within blocks of me. You won't find too many safer neighborhoods in this city.

Many years ago, Bridgeport was a working class neighborhood, but our proximity to downtown, McCormick Place, I.I.T, and U.S. Cellular Field has made it a very hot residential destination over the last 5 to 7 years. 5 of our last 7 mayors, including our current Mayor Daley grew up within a few minutes of our building. This is one of the safest neighborhoods in Chicago. One of my neighbors 5 or 6 houses away just built a $2.5 million mansion last year and next door to that house is a huge million dollar plus house with an indoor swimming pool in it's own addition.

There are new condo and townhouse developments everywhere here and the neighborhoods a few miles East of here that used to be questionable 10-20 years ago have also been developed over the last 5-10 years. In our area, half million dollar homes and more are now the norm.

This rental is located on a very quiet and peaceful block. You won't hear city noise of sirens and horns etc here.

I send an invoice to you from Paypal which will only take you a few minutes to pay whether you have an account or not.

Like a slice of home..., April 11, 2008
By Craig (San Francisco, CA USA)
This was my first time renting a condo instead of staying at a hotel while on vacation, and I've got to say...this is the way to go! The place was great and had that homelike feel that you never get in a hotel. The kitchen was superb and the shower was super awesome. It has those crazy body jets and a steam option. Super relaxing, but if that wasn't relaxing enough, there was the hot tub. This thing was almost big enough to swim in and trust me that's huge! We spent a good amount of time in the hot tub, which was nice since there was a blizzard outside. The condo was also in nice location and the freeway was just down the block, making it easy to get around. When I come back to Chicago, I am definetly staying there again. Don't miss out a great experience and spend your hardearned cash on a lousy overdecorated hotel, when you can stay in a little slice of home.

Home Away From Home, April 5, 2008
By James Krueger (Michigan, USA)
The six of us stayed comfortably. We utilized the wonderful kitchen in order to save money. After long days of museum visits we loved relaxing in the hot tub. The neighbors were quiet and the neighborhood safe. We chose to walk the short distance to the Red Line train each day as we ventured into Chicago with our children - with planning, it worked out well for us. The children are already asking to stay here again soon!

I really recommend this place!!!, March 26, 2008
By Natalie Hudson (Las Vegas, Nevada USA)
My husband and I travel a lot, but we don't have a lot of money, so we always try to find the nicest place we can find at the cheapest price. This place is definitely a great bargain and well worth the money. I can say it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. It is very big with all the extras you can imagine: big comfy beds, spa shower (like a massage), Internet, laundry, and more. It is a home, not just an empty rental. It is also VERY well stocked. You won't need to go buy anything while you are staying here. It is in a safe neighborhood very close to public transportation. A really frequent bus (every 9 minutes) comes by a block away and takes you right to the subway/train which takes you anywhere. One of the biggest perks is the truly kind and helpful owner, who always answers his phone and helps you with anything you need. I'd stay for his helpfulness alone.

A few friends and I stayed at this property for a weekend. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway - comfortable apartment in a safe neighborhood and very close to downtown and the owner is very accommodating. I would stay here again!
