‘CASTILLO NICTE-HA’ VILLA, built NEW in 2006, and available for rent. This home is cool, spacious, (5,500sf), with (3) floor levels, (5) bedrooms and sleeps 10+. 1 bedroom on the GROUND and PENTHOUSE levels and 3 bedrooms on the SECOND level. Big pool and only 50 yards to the sandy beach and warm Gulf ocean. Lovely ocean views from the top terrace.

Villa “Castillo Nicte-Ha”, (can be found on the Internet), is complete for a comfortable vacation with the comforts of home. It is situated in a quiet tranquil beach area of beach homes, 20 miles North of Merida, in CHICXULUB, Yucatan, Mexico, (7 miles East of Progreso).
Visit nearby Mayan ruins and historic capital city of Merida, with its charm, restaurants, night clubs and shopping etc, but afterwards, you will welcome this lovely cool beach home.
The Villa is spacious, and well ventilated with cooling sea breezes and screened doors and windows.
It is twenty minutes drive to the nearest Mayan site. 10 minutes to the super market and restaurants in Progreso.
TV and ceiling fans in every room.
Total occupancy can be increased to 14+. There are two queen sofa beds plus several additional hammocks.

 
GROUND floor details: Patio doors give access to the patio and pool area. Private bathroom with wheel chair accessible shower, handrails. King bed or twins. Outside beach shower. BBQ. AC. Dining table seats 8, plus 4 more at the bar.
SECOND level: Has three bedrooms, each with ceiling fans, showers and bathrooms. Two suites with Queen beds, open onto a huge 25'x 20' partially covered sun deck. The 3rd suite has a King bed or twins. Full kitchen, living room. Dining table seats 6 or more. BBQ. AC.

 PENTHOUSE: AC. Spacious, completely private suite and terrace. Ocean views and lovely sunsets on the large partially covered terrace, over looking the pool. Patio tables, chairs and hammocks. BBQ. Great for entertaining at cocktail hour. Dining table seats 6 plus 4 more at the kitchen table.

 NOTE! Each floor level is private and self contained, with living, dining room, kitchen and separate entrance. Each floor can be reserved for groups of 2 to 8 persons @ reduced rates. Contact the owner.

NOTE!! Split air conditioning on each floor. The moderate beach climate and clean ocean breezes, make AC unnecessary, but it is there if needed.

Villa CASTILLO NICTE-HA, a wonderful place to practice "Relaxing 101", you will love it.

GENERAL INFORMATION.
Beach is sandy and stretches for miles and is less than 100 yards from the Villa. A car is necessary. The Villa is in an isolated area of beach homes occupied mainly in the summer and spring breaks etc, other than caretakers. There are no restaurants within walking distance. It is quiet and peaceful.
Explore Mayan architecture and ruins abounding on the Yucatan Peninsula, Dzibilchaltun is a 20 minute drive. Designated as one of the 7 man made wonders of the world, CHICHEN ITZA is 1-1/2 hours drive. UXMAL, about 1 hour. CAMPECHE- 2HRS. Explore the many small villages with local artisans, central plazas and cultural events. Swim/dive in cenotes (underground pools and swimming holes).
Explore early Hacienda's of Yucatan.
The roads are good, traffic is light and CANCUN, COZUMEL, TULUM and the Mexican Riviera, with wonderful beaches and attractions, are a 4 hour toll road drive to the east.
Flocks of pink flamingos can be seen nesting on local lagoons and salt flats (cienegas). A nature preserve in Celestun is worthy of a visit.
Many Mayan archaeological sites and ruins are nearby. CASTILLO NICTE HA Villa is centrally located to many of them.
Visit churches and Convents, remnants of a bygone Spanish cultural evolution era. Such a lot to see.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Chicxulub and Castillo Nicte-Ha Villa, is 26 miles north of the capital city of Merida, Yucatan, on the N.West Gulf coast of the Yucatan Peninsula
Most of the theater concerts and events in Merida are free. Obtain tickets in person at the theaters for all events. Yucatan's capital city, Merida, has an historic town center, with four theaters, many charming restaurants and outdoor dining. A wonderful Cathedral, the oldest on the American mainland, is worth a visit in the main plaza. Sit outside enjoy an ice cream where people congregate at night. Many night clubs and activities, all within a few blocks. The Mayan Museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city worth a visit.
Folklorico and other dances and concerts take place during the week in the main plaza.

PROGRESO,7 miles west of CHICXULUB, with it's fine Malecon esplanade and restaurants along the beach, has 2 supermarkets, shopping areas and local shops to stroll. A large marina and fishing boat harbor. There are sea front restaurants, many providing food and drinks to shaded tables ON the beach. Colorful street vendors and markets.
Cruise ships visit PROGRESO twice per week attract local colorful artisans to the beach area. PROGRESO has the longest pier in the world.
A much slower pace of life is evident in Yucatan, which, combined with good food, clean air, beach breezes and great sunsets, can provide tranquility and relaxation. Venture forth but relax at the Villa at the beach. Little traffic here.
This Villa, Castillo Nicte-Ha, is located 10Km east of Progreso and 1 mile east of CHICXULUB, a quiet fishing peurto of helpful, friendly locals, some restaurants, and small markets. After your day of explorations, a local cook will cook AND deliver your requested lunch or dinner for a nominal sum. What more can you ask for.
