The town is only 15 km from the house. It has a church, a market for groceries, parks, drug store, liquor store, local restaurants fast food, or delicious traditional food such as panuchos, cochinita, ceviche, fresh fish, and more. There is also a movie rental place with internet-acces computers. There is a bus that travels to another beach called “Progreso”, which is only 10 minutes away. Progreso is a touristic beach that has an international pier, on the coast, where there are many local restaurants where you can eat traditional food, Italian or sea food. There are also souvenirs shops and sometimes rent a boat or a wave runner. Progreso has a larger market than Chicxulub, from there you can take a bus wich takes you to many other touristic places such as Merida City or other beaches like “Chelem” and “Chuburná”.
