Description of the Chimney Rock vacation cottage rental

Leave the stress, sounds, and smells of the city life behind. Come visit our quaint cottage and just feel the tension melting away... Enjoy a soak in the hot tub; this will certainly be an introduction into "kick back" mountain living. Chimney Rock is a friendly, welcoming community offering sensory experiences and memories to our tourists. Hear the tranquil sounds of the stream from our cottage across the road.

Shops and Chimney Rock Park are within walking distance. You can view the " Chimney Rock" which is lighted at night from our deck. Enjoy the fresh clean mountain air, but please bring a jacket for those cool mountain evenings. Homemade goods and foods are abundant all around, as well as yard sales, thrift shops. There are excellent restaurants all around the cottage site.

See where "Dirty Dancing" and "Last of the Mohicans" were filmed. The pool table in cottage is a skill pool type. Dogwood trees and other flowering shrubs are beautiful and fragrant in the springtime. Lake Lure (1 Mile away )offers all the water sports and rentals; golfing is also nearby. Put your fishing line in baited with 1 piece of corn and see what happens.

Dine at the Esmeralda Inn where Clark Gable and Carol Lombarde hung out between movie shoots. Ben Hur was also written in the Esmerala Inn. Enjoy a luxurious day at the Lake Lure Inn SPA (1 mile away ). Wineries in the area, one off of Hwy74 and Hwy 9, other at the Biltmore Estates, are only 20-30 minutes from the cottage.

Area Information

There is a local rock climbing wall which is man-made nearby in the area. Tennis courts and basketball courts are down the street at the City area office grounds and picnic area. Boat Tour of Lake Lure are also located on this same property and are lovely. Lake Lure also has a water park with tube slide and other attractions like Gem Mining. FISHING is right across the main street in the Broad River and locals use whole kernel corn to catch 3 types of trout.

Cozy/Romantic Getaway

This was more like a small home then a cottage. Great location tucked away off the street. The hot tub was perfect for after a long day of riding. Our hostess was very accommodating. Lake Lure is a pretty cool little town nestled in the mountains of No.Carolina. We are looking forward to next years vacation in the area.

Kyle of Loch Lure is the perfect little cottage for a quiet trip to beautiful NC mountains. It makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door! The hot tub is PERFECT after a long day of hiking or shopping. The owner is also very sweet and accommodating. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain vacation.

Cabin Anniversary

The photos do not do this cabin justice and the owner was more hospitable than any I have ever had the pleasure to work with, We enjoied the short time we had there for our anniversary and plan to go again and again. The place was quiet and so felt relaxed we never left the cabin the entire time we had there.

My mother and I stayed at the Kyle of Loch Lure in Oct 2011 for her Birthday this year and we really enjoyed staying there. The cottage is quaint, yet modern enough to have all conveniences. The views from this cottage are exceptional. In addition to viewing Chimney Rock from the deck you can see the Broad River across the street and actually hear the water noises. Recommend this cottage highly.

My fiance and I booked this cottage in September and came from Texas. Friends joined us there and we had a wonderful stay in the cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed as we prepared most of our meals; grilled out on deck most nights. Owners kept an extra LP tank for us and sure glad they thought of that. The central air worked great. We noticed that because the last place we rented, the unit just barely put out. Views are lovely and beds are very comfortable. Wild life come in yard especially if you get up early. Recommend highly.

My boyfriend and I rented this cottage early in September 2011 and really had a nice time. We are from Raleigh, NC and just wanted to "get a way". Restaurants were great in the area. Went swimming in Lake Lure which was really clean and took a ride on the sightseeing tour boat. We highly recommend the cottage. Owners are very nice and left us a gift inside!

My husband and I saw this cottage on web and it jumped out at us. We had been talking about getting away somewhere different and we chose this one. Very peaceful and we even had a deer almost come on the deck one early morning. We enjoyed watching the animal, so pretty. Views are great and good accommodations. Recommend.
