Description of the Christina Lake vacation home rental

For two months of the year we open our home to you, and invite you to enjoy perhaps the finest spot on the Lake. Known for its clear warm water, Christina lake is a summer paradise like no other in BC. Our home is located on the West side of the lake, off a quiet road, and enjoys early morning sun through the tall windows, and cool breezes in the evenings which follow the nearby creek down the mountainside. We have over 300' of secluded sandy beach on the point surrounding the property. A dock for tying up your boat will give you a snug harbour in any storm. A sauna, jacussi, large deck and a lakeside firepit make this the perfect spot to spend a week or two enjoying all there is to offer in this relaxing Interior BC atmosphere. Our home is "green friendly" with solar water heating, natural air conditioning, geothermal heating (from the lake), and one of the best energy ratings available from LivesmartBC. We also have a lovely organic garden from which we share some produce with our guests, and encourage composting, recycling and energy conservation as a lifestyle.

Area Information

Voted "BC's Best Lake", Christina Lake is famous for its' clean, clear water, warmth and beauty. Although known as one of the best family vacation destinations, Christina Lake offers something for everyone, including the extreme sport enthusiast.
 Christina Lake enjoys warm dry summers and relatively mild winters. The average winter temperature range is from –8 to –2 degrees Celsius, with mid summer temperatures reaching well into the 30’s.
 The average rainfall is 42 cm, with approximately 120 frost-free days per year. Southern Valleys enjoy an average of over 2000 hours of sunshine annually. Yearly snowfall averages 44 cm. The water temperature of Christina Lake is 22 degrees Celsius in the summer making it the warmest tree lined lake in Canada.

Christina Lake is located about half way between the West Coast and Alberta in the beautiful West Kootenays, just east of junction of Hwy. # 395 and Hwy. #3. Spokane, Washington is 2 ½ hours from the lake on Hwy. # 395 and Calgary and Vancouver are 8 and 7 hours by car respectively. Castlegar Airport is a 45-minute drive east.
