Warmest welcome to Mountain Laurel Farm, nestled at the foothills of the Chattahoochee National Forest and Double Head Mountain on 22 tranquil acres. The setting is peaceful, away from city life, yet only minutes to adorable Alpine Helen or Cleveland for convenience.

The Farmhouse is circa 1914 with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. It boast a gourmet kitchen with granite and stainless appliances, large dining room and sitting room, delight in the majestic mountain views and wildlife of the back deck. The Sunroom is equipped with TV and DVD player for Netflix and Hulu addicts or bring your own movies or USB drives or choose from our selections. Or play a board game or favorite card game while deciding what next to do during your stay in the North Georgia Mountains. The elegant formal living room holds the historical story of the property and you can cozy up with a book from the library nook by fire or relax on the grand rocking chair front porch or delight in the majestic mountain views and wildlife of the back deck. Retire for the evenings in four beautifully decorated bedrooms, each with unique themes. One of which has a story of fame. Arise in the morning to coffee and the breathtaking mountain views of the keeping room or deck. The farmhouse also has 2 large bathroom suites with one having a spa tub upstairs. Downstairs is the laundry room and there is also a spa retreat- if you are interested in hiring our in-house massage therapist for a special therapeutic massage during your stay (please inquire for rates and availability in advance).

The Carriage house is a 2 bedroom 1 bath quaint setting which offer a relaxing deck with spectacular views for enjoying your morning coffee, or a tranquil evening with the singing crickets. An eat-in kitchen and family room provide an openness for conversation and reminiscing. The 2 bedroom carriage house shares a spacious bathroom which also houses the laundry. The Carriage house has a large master bedroom with king size comfort, and a second bedroom with a queen size bed, for a good nights slumber.

If Fall is your time to visit, be sure to check out Oktoberfest going on in Helen from early September to the end of October. Loads of fun!

Our summers are perfect for nature hikes to waterfalls, mountain biking, zip lining, tubing , horseback riding, mini golf, fly fishing...you name it! Restaurant dining options range from authentic German fare to traditional southern. Specialty shopping, museums, crafts, etc. are minutes away in Alpine Helen as well. And not to forget, Octoberfest there beginning in early September thru the end of October annually. A must experience!
The winter season is all about snugging around a crackling fire, and even enjoying a Christmas away to remember with our lavish Christmas decor and massive outdoor cedar, and Frasier Fir topping the ceiling in the family living room. If old man winter sees fit,a "white Christmas" may be possible.
Spring brings a fresh awakening of native beauty such as orange blossoms of wild azaleas, the pink clusters of abundant Mountain Laurel and vibrant Rhododendron. Ideal temperatures for enjoying natures wonders in the great outdoors.

The Georgia Wine Highway takes off in each direction from the farm, from Helen to Historic Dahlonega. Tours of the wineries and tastings are offered year round.
