The farm is surrounded by state land, so Fall Foliage is amazing. And apple picking is a perfect afternoon activity. Upstate NY is amazing in the fall- crisp, chiseled days and brisk, clear nights.
Swimming in the spring-fed ponds in summer is so refreshing. The fishing in our ponds is wonderful. Our land glows at night with fireflies all July, and August brings nearby festivals, carnivals, and fairs all over the area.
The driveway is plowed in the winter for easy access, and the sledding and snowmobiling are fantastic. The woodstove heats the whole house beautifully and easily. And there is plenty of wood to keep it cozy all day and all night.
And the spring is a perfect time to come up- the brooks are babbling with melted snow, the acreage is turning green and starting to bloom, and the wild turkey, deer and heron abound!
The house has great amenities- Wood burning stove, dishwasher, microwave, well stocked kitchen with all hand appliances, wrap around porch, washing machine, deep tub, satellite TV, DVD player and movie library, CD player, WIFI, King bed in sleeping loft, futon, books and toys, linens and towels.
House comfortably sleeps 4-6 people. It is perfect for a family, a group of friends, or as a solo getaway from it all. The house is very kid-friendly, and well stocked with toys. Dogs are allowed with an extra deposit.
Year round rentals available. Weekend rate $250- 2 nights, 3 nights- $350, 4 nights- $400, 5 nights- $500. Weekly rate- $700. Monthly and Season rates can be discussed. Popular Holiday weekends and weeks (Christmas, New Year's, July 4th, Valentine's day, Labor Day, Memorial Day) are slightly higher in price.
The farm is 3 hours from New York City, 45 minutes from Albany, 25 minutes to Cooperstown, and 20 minutes to Cobleskill.

My wife Eileen and I are both teachers. Eileen had a very stressful end of the year. I knew I had to bring her away someplace where she could rest and relax. I spotted this former farm on the internet and thought it looked interesting. I spoke to the owner, Mindy,on several occasions. She could not have been nicer or more accomodating. I picked Eileen up on the last day of school and we headed straight up to the farm. Within an hour of arriving we were both sitting on the deck, sipping a glass of wine, and watching the sun set over the mountains. We eventually retired inside to a roaring fire on the wood stove. Over the next two days we explored the vast property, read dozens of magazines and newspapers, and repeated our nightly ritual. By the time we returned to the Bronx we were both stress free. If you are looking to get away and do nothing, nothing that is but relax, then this is the place for you. We are already making plans to return before the start of the new school year.

My 3 year old, and mother and I went up there for 2 nights and had a wonderful time exploring the area, hanging out at the house (there are a lot of toys for both boy and girl kids!), a full kitchen, swings out back, and cable tv. We loved playing on the dock by the pond as well. It was a great experience on a beautiful piece of land!

Thanks for a perfect vacation. The kids loved swimming in the pond, and the close proximity of Cooperstown. The house and land were just great for our family getaway.
