The Log House at Turner Bay

The log house sits in the middle of seven and a half acres up the hill from Turner Bay on the east side of Lake Coeur d'Alene. It's the perfect place to get away from the world. You can't see any neighbors. Reading and visiting on the front porch is a great way to start the day. There are plenty of comfy chairs and a two person porch swing. When we decided to rent it out we re-did just about everything. It now has a new stove, refrigerator, microwave, mattresses, refinished floors, and indoor toilet, but we still kept our full featured outhouse for the more adventurous. And we added a fire pit with wood provided.

Hiking, biking, picnicking, and camping are good right out the front door. There is a public dock at Turner Bay that is a two and a half minute drive down the hill. It's a good place to fish and swim and is usually deserted during the week.

The log house is about in the middle of the East side of Lake Coeur d'Alene in driving time. You're 25 minutes from the village of Harrison at the south end of the lake. Harrison is the best place for access to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, and is also great for boat, canoe, kayak, and bike rentals.

The log house is also 30 minutes from Coeur d'Alene. It works great for a home base for area activities. The nicest way to see Lake Coeur d'Alene is to take Hwy 97 Scenic Route. That's how you get to and from the log house. Driving down there is a vacation in itself.
