Wow! This was a beautiful, spacious, very well appointed home in a perfect vacation setting. The comfort and the amenities including fully stocked game room and hot tub were above anything we expected. The owners were extremely gracious and helpful. We can't recommend this place highly enough. It was a truly wonderful getaway experience for our family.

Great Christmas Getaway in Colorado Log Cabin, December 28, 2009
By Jeff P. (Austin, Texas)
We just got back from our Christmas vacation in beautiful Colorado and staying at this Mountain Cabin was absolutely perfect. First of all, the picture on the website don't do the place justice. It is very nicely decorated and has that real Mountain Cabin feel that you look for. The views are outstaning as you have a 360 degree panorama of some beautiful views. We saw a herd of Elk twice walk on the nearby ridge about 100 yards away. It snowed two of the five days we were there. Plenty of snow for awesome sledding. Powder Hown ski resort is only 20 minutes away, with great skiing (tons of Powder). Grand Junction is real close if you want to sneak in town for a meal. Perfect scenic backdrop for our Christmas. The cabin was decorated for Christmas with a Christmas tree, and went spent our days playing in the snow, watching movies on their big scren t.v., enjoying the hot tub on the deck outside, the outdoor fire pit and space heaters kept it warm outside while snow is falling. I highly recommend this Colorado log cabin for anyway looking to rent a place for the winter for a Christmas experience in the Rocky Mountains. Thanks to the Smithsons, they have a wonderful Cabin. Jeff, Austin, Texas.

Relax in luxury!!, September 2, 2009
By Teressa (Grand Junction, CO)
This home is an awesome location for a womens/mens retreat, family reunion, or quiet family get-away. The owners are very caring and great to work with. All the comforts of home + more. No need to pack a lot of things along--just clothes and food. They've thought of everything else. Can't say enough about it.

 Wow, July 20, 2009
By Ann Gushurst (colorado)
This home is beautiful and the views are stunning. It was quiet, and restful and we saw deer, elk, several hawks and an owl. The home is comfortable and roomy and there is nothing bad to say about it at all. Ann

 Just Perfect!, July 11, 2009
By Heidi Heinsch (Orlando, Fl the past four years (previously WI))
This place was exactly what we were looking for and exactly what we needed as a family. We loved being out in the mountains and the home is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities needed to enjoy a vacation! Hot tub, lots of space in the house, great kitchen, huge deck, and large windows to constantly view the majestic mountains. Even though we have only talked to the owners on the phone I feel like they are family. Very generous, sweet and caring people. The views are fabulous, the area is quiet and peaceful. We were able to drive a couple hours to Aspen to hike or go to Grand Junction to shop. We spent quiet days reading on the deck, playing games together, watching movies, taking walks, and watching the deer from the deck. It was absolutely perfect. Take advantage of this wonderful place. Well worth it.

Best Christmas Ever!, April 2, 2009
By Crosby Family (Broken Arrow, OK USA)
Our family has wanted to go on a Christmas vacation to Colorado for years. We decided last minute that this was the Christmas to just go ahead and "do it!" So last minute we found this rental. It looked like a dream come true from the website. After about a 16 hour drive from Oklahoma, we arrived at the cabin. We brought my mother-in-law, our children ages 11 and 9, and our Golden Retriever. It was our best vacation ever! We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin with its feel of warmth and family with the fireplace, lovely Christmas decorations, the elaborate game room, and the many thought-through details of decor and supplies for guests. We had a blast snow sledding right outside of the house, watching movies on the big screen at night, snow skiing in the daytime, and driving to the small town nearby to grab last minute snacks.I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away to have a wonderful Christmas family vacation! It is definitely one of our family highlights!

 A Christmas to Remember, October 14, 2008
By Josh (Kerrville, TX)
I spent last Christmas here and absolutely loved it. It was decorated very well with lights inside and out as well as a Christmas Tree. The snow made for beautiful days and the nights were the best sitting in the hot tub while the snow melted on my head. The ski area is close by and fantastic. Even during the holidays it wasn't that busy and the runs were alot of fun. I would highly recommend this log home to anyone whether it's the holidays or not.

Great Place to Relax - Very Peaceful, October 9, 2008
By Jayne (Las Vegas, nv)
I felt as though I was staying in a family members or a very close friend's home - without them being there. This home is not close to any big resorts or touristy stuff but is a great place to get away from it all and relax. There is a small ski resort and quaint winery's close by. We were there during the fall color change. It was beautiful. The small towns in the area are very friendly.
