West Michigan Wine Weekend

The cabin was cozy and clean and had adequate space for the six of us that rented it. We were disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working, but everything else was tidy and comfortable. It's a great cabin for west Michigan Wine Tasting as it's not too far from the wineries and very quiet and peaceful. Would love to go back in warm weather for swimming and fishing!

What a great weekend get-away!

This cabin is everything described. Anyone who takes a vacation here (whether a weekend get away or a week long get away) will not be disappointed. Very nice and relaxing, clean and stocked with household items. Just buy your groceries and drinks and you don't have to leave! Highly recommend and owners are great to deal with.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is very nice and clean. It has a well stocked kitchen, so there isn't a reason to bring any extra cooking utensils. Our children (ages 6 and 9) were thrilled with the cabin. They spent a large part of the weekend playing air hockey and playing/walking the trails on the property. We plan to make a return trip next year.

My family and I had a great time at the log cabin, the house and the area is beautiful! Everything you need is right there, once you have your groceries there is no reason to leave. We cannot wait to visit again for a week during the summer so we can have fun on the beach as well!

The Great Escape

This was the perfect escape from city life. 1/5 hours from downtown Chicago. Beautiful secluded property within 15 minutes from downtown St. Joseph. This was a last minute trip for us and Bruce was most accommodating and helpful with our rental. We would highly suggest this rental to anyone looking to get some quality r&r in a beautiful setting.

3rd year and still going strong

This past weekend we were fortunate to spend a fun filled family getaway at the log home. This is our 3rd winter trip to the home. Mother Nature gave us some lake effect snow just in time so the cross country skiing was great. The log home has all the amenities one could ask for. It is located on a beautiful piece of land overlooking the lake. It is so tranquil and peaceful in the winter watching the snow fall down and walking the many trails that stretch the property. This is a trip we look forward to every winter and feel fortunate that we stumbled upon such a treasure a few years back. You will not go wrong by spending a few days or a week at this home. Simply put, a great getaway.

My family and I had a very nice time, even though the weather didn't cooperate we were able to relax, watch some movies, brush up on our air hockey skills and enjoy some of the local pizza. The beach was close and the kids had fun climbing the dunes.

We found this cabin and thought it would work well for us to stay for our son's wedding as opposed to two or three hotel rooms for five days. We were SO glad we chose the cabin and kept thinking all week that we could have been shut up in little hotel rooms. Instead, we were able to have more family visits and the kids had the whole basement area to play and enjoy. They even had games there. The place had everything we needed. We brought things with us like dish detergent , paper towels and laundry soap, but it was already there, so we could have spared ourselves the tight fit with all that stuff on our drive. I do recommend you put people who get hot quickly in the basement and people who get chilled in the loft. There is actually a bedroom on each floor, which worked great for us. We did not know that until we arrived. Bruce was very nice and easy to work with too. You are asked to wash your towels and strip your sheets before you leave so plan to allow extra time the morning you leave to accomplish that small task. Trust me when I tell you that the cabin stay is well worth doing a little clean up before you leave. We had bad weather for our stay but had it been sunny there are two paddle boats and paddles we would have enjoyed. And the fire pit is awesome down by the lake.

We stayed here over a weekend in February and it was amazing! The cabin is beautiful, clean, and cozy and the owners are friendly and easy to work with. We loved that it had a full kichen and several relaxing rooms to hang out in. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a weekend getaway (we had a blast even on a snowy weekend in winter!) or a long vacation. We loved the cabin and can't wait to plan another trip there!

So Cozy and Beautiful

We had our family thanksgiving here and there was plenty of room for everyone. We were concerned about enough pots and pans, etc...but everything is well equipped, tons of pillows, blankets, towels. You walk in and it can be overwhelming how unique and beautiful it is! The pictures just don't do it justice. We spent a lot of time inside due to the weather, and had a blast! Lots of room for people to do their own things, we bowled at the Coloma bowling alley, what fun! We went to St. Joseph and did some shopping, very cool shops...a must see town! I highly recommend renting this cottage, not only was the cottage wonderful, but the owners were so easy to work with and got back to me right away with any questions I had. I am sure in the summertime with the lake and boat right there, this place would be even more exciting!

Absolutely Gorgeous

My group rented this cabin for the week surrounding my wedding. IT. WAS. PERFECT! The house is beautifully built and designed. It was great at keeping warm when the nights got a bit cool, but also brought in pleasant breezes during the day. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to row the boats on the lake behind the cabin, having a few bonfires out back, relaxing on the deck, and being out in the woods away from city streets and lights. The whole group was sad to leave the cabin behind. It had a good vibe, was conducive to family meals and group activities, but also allowed for guests to retire to their own quarters. We had a group of 6 adults, but could easily have fit a couple more guests... there are two bedrooms behind closed doors and one master bedroom that has no walls (it is just the loft above the living/kitchen space), plus three couches that have pullout mattresses. I would not choose to build my own house to have a bedroom that is lofted out into the open like this one because of wanting more privacy, but for a week long visit, we did not have any issues with the set up. The views this fall were gorgeous. The location is great, easy access to I-196 and M-63, which are great for getting down to St. Joseph/Benton Harbor. Also not too far from some apple orchards, chocolate shops, cider mil. The pizza joint within 5 minutes has pretty good pizza. The closest little market is a bit overpriced, but the next closest grocer is a full supermarket. Love it here!

This cabin and our time spent there was an absolute delight. The property is secluded, the cabin is spacious, clean, and warmly decorated with old-west charm. There's plenty to do in the surrounding areas but we also enjoyed some lazy time on the sunny, wrap-around porch. There's a great spot by the lake to make a bonfire. We wish the fish had been biting that weekend but it was fun to get out there in the row boat and try. (But lots of seaweed to get through.)Thank you Bruce & Colleen!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay in this cabin. It's so cozy and spacious at the same time. It had all the amenities we needed. My communications with the owner, Bruce, were always great. He's extremely friendly and thorough--leaves nothing out. Again, we all had the best time out in Coloma and I assure you that this cabin is perfect for a vacation during any season. I'd love to go back.

PERFECT ALL GIRLS WEEKEND!

I was a bit skeptical on how pictures can portray a home and make it enticing. However, of all the places I have stayed I was the most happy with this home. The Home was BEAUTIFULLY built to suit anyone-Families or couples! It sits just off the road with a view of the wilderness. The owner, Bruce- Great guy! He answers his calls on point no need for voicemail or call backs. The home is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up any meal and the bathroom has all the necessities. All 6 of us girls were facinated and are making this home our yearly retreat home! Definitely recommend it to EVERYONE! Have a great stay!-EJ

Cross Country Skiing Weekend

We had an amazing holiday weekend at the log home. The inside of the home is beautiful and spacious. The outside is a winter paradise. There was still close to a foot of snow. Trails stretch through the woods and along the lake which made for a perfect cross country skiing adventure. Warming up next to the fire with hot chocolate was a great ending to our skiing days. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful weekend. The house is nice and cozy. Close to the Lake Michigan (1 mile) with association's beach. The closest house is around 1/4 mile so the property is very private. Bruce, the owner, is one of the nicest guys we ever met. Explained everything. Responded our calls. Thanks Bruce. We will come back.

We (a group of 6 friends) enjoyed the cabin a lot! Bruce was a wealth of information and easy to get a hold of. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Of course, it's always tough when there are 6 women and 1 bathroom but we made it! Everything was very clean and there wasn't anything that wasn't at our finger tips. It was in a great location too...we spent our days in South Haven and Saugatuck (?). Thanks again Bruce!

Great Family Vacation

The log cabin in Coloma was a great family get away. It was very private and provided a lot of amentites that weren't expected like-- 2 baby gates, a booster seat, and plenty of towels!! The kids loved the lay out of the cabin with the loft above, and the game room below. The private home owner's association beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. There was a nice play area above the beach for children of all ages. The little market down the road was a gem (Vitale's Market). The Karma Vista Winery in Coloma had a good Reisling and the Contessa Winery had some great varietals as well. The only reason I gave the property 4 stars is that I could slightly hear the traffic noise from the interstate when I sat out on the balcony. Overall it was a great family vacation and our 4 kids had a great time.

Myself and several of my friends rented this cabin for 5 days. We all had an amazing time in a great house. Bruce and Coleen have done an amazing job making sure that their guests have everything they could need, as well as ample sleeping room in a great cabin. I would recommend this for a couple looking to get away, some friends who want to spend some time together, or a family looking to enjoy the outdoors. The place was gorgeous in the middle of winter, I'm sure it's even more beautiful during the summer.

An amazing family winter retreat.

My wife and I rented this cabin as a Christmas present for our nieces & nephews. The children in our family range in ages from 5 months to 9 years of age (6 total), and they love to get together. This cabin trip was without a doubt the best x-mas gift we've ever given. The kids had an absolute BLAST. We spent the bulk of the time playing outside in the snow (snowball fights, snow forts, snow men, and sledding on a little hill on the north side of the property). The rest of the time was spent inside warming up over some hot chocolate, playing games, reading books, and a nighttime movie before bed. The cabin was cozy and beautiful. The look on the kid's faces when they walked in was priceless..... lots of "WOW"s and "HOLY COW"s and "HOW'd THEY MAKE THIS"?..... An AMAZING TRIP, thank you so much for the opportunity to make great family memories! We try to pick a different place every year for this trip.... but it is going to be difficult to find any place better.... we will be back!
