This cozy 3 bedroom, 1 bath Cottage is located in the town of Colonial Beach just steps away from the water and within walking distance to the towns amenities.

Within a few short steps of the cottage, you will find Waterfront Restaurants the town beach and the best 'Coffee Shop in the Northern Neck.

For those who like to engage in outside activities you can rent: scooters, jet skis and let ''''''s not forget golf carts. Yes... Colonial Beach is a Golf Cart Community, where you ''''''ll see the locals riding around town by way of golf cart or for a much slower pace you can tour the town by trolley.

We stayed at Hawthorn Cottage for a weekend and enjoyed every minute. The house is lovely, just beautifully decorated and comfortable. An easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Couldn't have asked for a better house and a better location. Highly recommended.

Jackie has done an incredible job decorating Hawthorn cottage with comfortable furnishing that make you feel at home. Tastefully done, all of the comforts are provided. Bath and bed linens are high quality and the place is spotless. The beach and center of the town are a block and a half away. Town library is around the corner. Washington’s birthplace, Robert E. Lee’s boyhood home and Westmoreland State Park (including Fossil Beach, a natural beach where shark’s teeth can be found) are a must see. Jackie provides other information on local sites(winery & berry farm). The town is a journey back to a time where life was uncomlicated and peaceful. You will want to return to this charming home with its close-in location and peaceful atmosphere.

The Hawthorne Cottage, located in the heart of downtown Colonial Beach was clean, charming, and quite cozy! Loaded with all the amenities of home and just a few short blocks from the beach we enjoyed our stay at this quaint little cottage. Colonial Beach is a nice "get away" with fabulous restaurants and cute little shops run by the locals.Visit...you wont b sorry!! The owner of this cottage is quite helpful in answering any questions you may have about the beach and local attractions.

This is a very comfortable clean cozy well decorated cottage. The town is just as adorable, it's like being transported back in time! Although you can drive around, its also good for walking this way you get a real feel for the area, Locals wave from front porches which are still being used for their intended use. We stayed the week of 7-4-07 and walked to the beach to watch the fireworks display which was spectacular. Families had been gathering all day for this event which was well worth it. It was especially nice being able to walk "home" afterwards. My husband and I stayed with our daugher and two grandsons we had plenty of room and lots of fun and felt very safe. If you're looking for a true escape this is the place for you, I wouldn't hesitate to book a week at this beautiful home. I forgot to mention how wonderful it was to meet the owner. Jackie is the most pleasant person and very helpful in gathering tons of local information and a real joy to rent from.
